We Have Had A Perfect Fall Weekend

Both yesterday and today, sunny, blue sky, crisp air and breezy. The leaves, while not 100% changed, are spectacular.

When DD and I ran errands yesterday we took the long(er) way home so we could just enjoy the day and look at the leaves.

I just got back from running to Dunkin. I didn't need to go but it is a great day for a ride. We won't have a lot of days like this again.

If I had a good back, and a safe place to walk, I would have gone for a long stroll.

Who else had a great fall weekend?

Same here in NE Iowa. Went to Galena, IL with my sister yesterday (so did everyone else evidently)...people everywhere. We shopped all the little shops on Main Street til dark. It was sunny and low 60's. Color is outstanding on the trees this year. My mom always called them "Soul" days. Not as nice today, cloudy, windy & 50 degrees. Enjoy these days while they last. I think we get down to 20 tonight with highs in the 40's the next few days.

@PJinIA I know spending time out in this weather is good for the old mental health. The gallon of gas ($3.89) we used is cheaper than a therapist. LOL

We had a beautiful, perfect 75° fall day yesterday but last night it all fell apart. The wind started blowing we had rain and distant continuous thunder for hours and the temperature plummeted.

All of this would be fine except I have no heat. I have to have a plumbing company worker come and shut down my evaporative cooler which is on the roof, and turn on my heat. My appointment is this coming Wednesday. Thank goodness for my trusty Dyson fan/heater (love). It'll make my bedroom toasty warm.

This weekend in Arizona has been fantastic. Yesterday it was cloudy, rainy thundered and lightning most of the day. Today is cooler (it's only 70 and it's 11:00) and very enjoyable. Will be sitting outside by the firepit a little later enjoying some wine and snacks. Nice not to hear the a/c running all day and summer is gone.

@Meowingkitty What a relief it must be after the summer you've had. We must have had the same storm but you got it earlier.

Sweltering in central FL. That is supposed to end in couple of days. I still have a lot of hurricane cleanup to do, so I really need some cooler, drier air.

It's been a great Fall weekend here too. It's great because there are many outside Fall events this weekend. Nephew and his wife are at the pumpkin festival with their daughter. Hubby and I went out for breakfast and then took a lovely long drive this morning. Looking at the foliage and how people have decorated their lawns and porches.

It's all about perception. We had a cool day yesterday in the morning with clouds and temperatures in the high 60's or low 70's.

Early afternoon the storm blew in, thunder and lightning, and plenty of rain. I loved it.

We desperately need the rain in Southern California.

Today I ran a few errands and the temperatures were nice and cool and in the 70's.

If I'm not mistaken, the scenes in Field of Dreams that featured Doc "Moonlight" Graham in Chisholm, Minnesota were actually filmed in Galena.

It looks like a charming place and I've always wondered why I didn't know about it, growing up in Chicago.

@just bee I wasn't even aware they did substituted Galena for Chisholm in the movie. Thanks for the fun fact!

Galena is always a hot spot in the fall...for some it's kind of an annual tradition. It's a fun drive for leaf peepers & shoppers alike! Cool, crisp weather, glorious fall color & the quaint mainstreet shops are the cherry on top!

After a 2 year absence, Summerville, WV was geared up for the famous Bridge Day event on Saturday. Perfect October day for it; sunny, warm, and dry.

370 jumpers signed up and made 1200 jumps off the New River Gorge Bridge; no injuries were reported this year based on the news last night. Crowds were huge; there was a jumper from Brazil, and one from Australia, who say they will definitely be back. Spectators from FL, GA, PA, TX, OH, and TN were interviewed and were loving every minute of the big event.

WV appreciates those tourism dollars!!
