Walmart Website Irregularity

I just went on to the Walmart website to add some items to a grocery list. My account came up with someone else's name on it.

I signed out and signed back in and my name reappeared, but this has never happened to me on any website.

I called my credit card and they put me on an early warning monitoring program.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I didn't experience a different account. But I went to the website to look for something and it wouldn't even let me look for a product unless i signed in.

@PickyPicky3 This just happened to me! The name was Kathy B. I checked my cart, and it was my grocery items in the cart, but how weird. I signed out, and signed back in.

I haven't had that happen but their website is usually annoying. (...Which is surprising for such a large company.) One thing that bugs me is that box on the left side that pops up when you first open the site I think it's asking you to select your method of shopping. It has to be killed before you can advance in the website. Most often I'm just looking something up, not actually buying, and don't appreciate the "how are you shopping" nonsense.

I've been ordering groceries for 5 or 6 years and have always had trouble with the website. I order items, verify that they're on my order, then I don't get the items and they're not on my order. You've got to constantly check to assure that things haven disappeared.

This has got me thinking back to the movie The Fly. Remember the scientist tested his teleportation device on himself not knowing a fly was inside with him?

Two people click on their Walmart accounts at the same time and some programming glitch can't separate them correctly.

I had the very same issue with walmart.

I connected with them through their website, actually spoke to a guy and got it fixed.

@Kachina624, I don't know if you have noticed but the substitution policy has changed from substitutions being priced at the same price of the item you ordered even if more $. Now the substitutions are being billed at their listed price. I ordered a pack of 6 paper towels and they substituted a package much larger that was much more $. I will be careful about what I allow for substitutions for now on. By the time they email the list the order is on its way so you can't stop it.

The other thing that happened was for a shipping order. Part of my items were not available so they sent a couple of items that were. They charged my card for the entire order. They did send updates on the unavailable items and in 4 days they just canceled those items but have not reimbursed the CC.

Please pardon my jumping in, but what you described is terrible and I'm sorry anyone had to have that experience.

I won't be in such a hurry when shopping that site.

@tiny 2 I did notice the new policy on substitutions and immediately put a stop to several of them. I pick up all of my groceries except those I have shipped. You can always refuse substitutions when they bring them out to your car.

You may have to call to get reimbursement.

@on the bay, Yes I did not realize it either but I did go back and check. There was a statement on the website. For the most part I have had excellent service but I have found that if the website is really wonky to wait until things calm down to place the order. I really needed those light bulbs.. I am having such a time finding light bulbs. This is the 4th order that could not be filled regarding the bulbs.(different places)

I'm so glad you posted about this. And so weird you mentioned lightbulbs because I have had the same problem! I finally got ones from Walmart that are GE and I had searched for incandescent but they are LED. Who knew that some lightbulbs didn't fit. The previous ones I got from Sylvana I think didn't fit and I couldn't use them in my touch lamps.

These are the ones that finally worked

(from Walmart delivery about $10).

@on the bay, Those are the exact ones I am looking for. They also make that bulb that is dimmable. (green package).

@ECBG, There have been a couple of mishaps however, when my husband was ill and I could not leave him alone my other stores would not order and deliver large cases of Ensure etc. He had Pulmonary Fibrosis and was burning calories so fast before he died.

This store delivered cases, opened them for me placed them in the fridge because I could not handle the weight plus numerous other foods to supplement his diet(ice cream etc). I do not forget.

They also have one of the best selections with ethnic ingredients around. I like different cuisines and easily find some hard to find ingredients. I give them time to correct the mishaps and they do.

Are the leaves peaked yet? I am headed up. I was delayed because the guy that I have been waiting for months to hang a giant heavy mirror called and said he could do it.

Out in the mountains where seeds from birds plan the landscape there are a few brillient colors here and there. The parkway where I can commute was very green several days ago.

If you time is two weeks off, I can take off the day. I think you would love to see the Folk Art Center with all of the beauty brought forward from the 1800's.
