Social Security Increase Medicare Decrease

Apologies if this has already been covered, saw the post on Social Security 8.7% increase for 2023, didn't see anything mentioned about Medicare.

Looks like $5 decrease for base Medicare for 2023 so if that is true we'll net all of the cost of living increase for SS for 2023.

@rockygems123 It has been mentioned, however, many people still are under the impression they'll be socked with a Medicare increase so it bears repeating.

What about changes to what Medicare will cover? We might have to pay more out of pocket for our health care. I haven't actually looked at the handbook so I really don't know for sure.

Good point, there are going to be variables within a program.

My plan still has the same coverage.

I got email too but it said the benefit amounts would not be availalbe until December.

I got the e-mail also, it only tells you the percentage the increase will be, but we already know that.

We don't know for sure what the change will be for the actual cost of Medicare will be. That information won't be avaialbe on our accounts until December.

The Medicare premium will be $164.50 and the deductible will be $226. Unless you have a penalty or surcharge.

what's the most that anybody can draw in SS ? is there a limit ?

Yes there is a maximum payout of monthly benefits.

I'm pretty sure people like Oprah aren't hurting and depending on Social Security to get them through the month.
