My friend's 20 something daughter had to go to the ER the other day because she felt dizzy and had headaches after a vacation she took with her friends at Lake Tahoe. Same thing happened earlier this summer after a trip to CA.

She was telling me they had her sent to specialists for MRI testing for neuro issues, did tons of blood work and tried to get her into Mayo Clinic. Her mom was telling me how her and her husband were beside themselves with worry and stress over her issues. She took time off her new job to deal with these health issues.

This daughter loves to post on Instagram, usually at a bar with a drink in her hand. So, she had these health issues since Wed of last week and lo and behold, on her Instagram page today she posted pictures of herself at a bar on Sat, sipping a cocktail, dressed... let me say, hardly dressed enjoying herself.

Not sure if her parents look at her Instagram page but she's sure a lot better in a few short days. My other friend told me to go on her page and I was really surprised. Be careful posting pictures of yourself on Instagram. They aren't private. LOL. I think her health issues may have more to do with her excessive drinking than anything else. And if it's something else, drinking isn't the best solution until you have answers.

Oh well, some of these young kids just want to be seen partying. Hope her new employer didn't see it.

You can private your account on IG so no one can see you except your followers. Sounds like she needs to with all the looky loos.

She definitely enjoys people looking at her as she poses for her photos.

Some of these people forget these pictures are out there forever. They will follow you.

No idea. She hasn't had the MRI yet and she just had blood drawn on Thurs. That's why it's so odd. Wouldn't you rather wait for results, especially when your parents rushed to get her into these specialists before partying and drinking? Her parents were beside themselves with worry.

remember that not everyone that sits at a bar is having an alcoholic drink.

also, the photo may not necessarily have been from the same day she posted it.

i often post photos that are a week old......sometimes longer.

and yes, you can make your instagram account private by changing the settings.

She dated it and listed the name of the nightclub she was at. I would feel better if she didn't party with medical issues, but doesn't look like it.

I even mentioned to her mom that she seems to get sick after her vacations. There are issues that can erupt from binge drinking and coming down from it. I would say 95% of her Instagram photos are of her partying with alcohol in some fashion. I can only give her mom my thoughts, but not sure I can tell her about her photos. I would think her mom would see them, but who knows.

My hairdresser's daughter was working part time at a day care while attending college. According to my hairdresser, she loved the job. Loved the kids and she wanted to eventually have her own day care center. For some reason, maybe a bad day, I don't know, she posted something on snap chat. Along the lines of hating the kids, hating the place, etc. A co-worker saw it, showed it to the boss and she got fired.

I know mean well but you don't understand what Instagram is and why people post to it. You also don't understand the modern world. If this woman wanted her Instagram to br private, should have used the controls to make it private. You think being in a bar, drinking, wearing a revealing dress is something to be ashamed of but she doesn't. She was sharing a fun evening with her followers and to make the leap that her medical emergency is related to alcohol or that she was advised to avoid alcohol is ridiculous. You know nothing about her medical history. You were snooping around looking for something on that young woman, we can only guess what it was. It's clear though that you don't wish anything good for her.

Yeah, anything you post online can be used against you. Potential employers often screen social media now for new hires to see who the person truly is, and many people lose out on opportunities due to things they've posted. Colleges now access potential students' social media accounts to learn more about them. Make one stupid post and you can miss out on the school of your choice.

I worked in a family owned business and they used to brag how their daughter wasn't like other kids out partying on the weekends at College.

Her facebook pictures were shocking and yes she was out partying and in some of the pictures she posted she was so drunk or high that she couldn't stand up. Her tank tops were totally see through and she was hangin on different guys. Her pictures were not private because no of us were her "friends" Her parents didn't "do" Social media....

No one said anything to them....but you don't know how much we all wanted to.

Im sorry, but these parents are very naive and stupid....they rush her to a specialist and they cant imagine that their darling "innocent" "angel" could be suffering from alcohol binges. Medical tests should reveal whether she also took some drugs along with the alcohol....and you hear about guys putting drugs in drinks of young woman (daterape drugs)..........

And these young woman are also stupid (no other word can describe it) they think these photos are "cute" or show how "wordly" they are when it reveals an immaturity and childishness!....

Everyone checks social media accounts these days from colleges/universities to prospective employers....In fact even when I volunteered for a charitable organization they informed me that part of my background check would include soical media.......

Perhaps @Black Cat Back you can hint to the parents very gently this way and tell them they might want to google their daughter's social media account to see if perhaps they see something in vacation photos where she ate something that she might be allergic to while on vacation causing the problem and hope they get the hint! ....

Yep, it might break up a friendship, but you might also save their daughter from herself too!
