The newest Tik Tok thing, cooking chicken in cold medicine.

I swear social media has dumbed down so many people. Eating Tide Pods, lighting themselves on fire, eating cinnamon by the spoonful.

Let's see, doing something that could harm/kill me or getting likes? Should not be a hard choice.

I get young people blah, blah. These same young people are driving among us, voting etc.

Yes, I'm old, but geez, use your head.

Unfortunately, Tik Tok has a huge influence on young people here. I think it's addicting to them. In China, they don't show all this garbage on their Tik Tok like they do here.

And in China they also were not out of school for almost 2 years. And then there are the ingredients that make Fentanyl, sent to a country next ours, that manufactures them. Now into candy looking colored pills.

Maybe those that be! Can either get the China version of this app, or make it impossible to use. I also wonder where so many of these young kids get enough money $$$$, to buy these possibly, life altering fones!

@hckynutjohn Parents buy these phones and a fine example many of them are. You ought to see the arguments going on in my town right now because our High School dared to ban cell phones from being out during class unless the teacher gave permission. I told my kids they are in school for an education, they are to pay attention to the teacher NO need for a phone to be out in class. I'm not texting or calling during school and expect the same unless its lunch time or crossing time between classes in which they have up to 10 minutes to get to class. Tik Tok causes many students to get suspended

Another reason Tik Tok is dangerous and should just be shut down. Clearly parents either don't know it exists or exercise zero control over what their kids see or hear in their phones, etc.

Using that much NyQuil could be very dangerous; it's so much alcohol no telling how sick, or worse, users could get.

@CrazyKittyLvr2YouTube was around for a longer time showing eating cinnamon and Tide Pods. It isn't much of a stretch that these moved on to Tik Tok.

I remember lighting *ahem* body gas was a "thing" especially in college dorms even when I was in college.

Yes, social media has exposed so many more to these activities, I agree.

Some of this stuff baffles me. Why would you baste any food in a medication? I assume most the alcohol would cook away leaving a gross looking piece of chicken - would you like a leg of green menthol or a cherry red wing?

First. Keep things in perspective and try trashing and bashing young people. This is a Tik Tok thing which means it widespread and every 16 year old in the country is doing it. Of course with all the mainstream media attention, a lot of kids and adults who never heard of it will try it now. Tik Tok is full of trash videos that people make up and post for the sole purpose of getting followers or enticing people to do ridiculous things.

Although I'm on tik tok, I didn't know about this. I only use it pull videos that I like on other social media places. I skip through a lot of them. My favorites are the cat/pet videos.

First. I didn't bash young people. I said social media has dumbed down SOME people. They could be any age.

Some people are so eager to get likes, or views, from total strangers they will do anything, including dangerous things.

In the old days my Mom used that old, "if your friends jumped off a cliff would you do it too". I gave a correct and true answer, "no", Why? Because I had common sense.

Teens are also doing the "Benadryl challenge", taking large amounts of the drug getting them high and causing hallucinations. Very dangerous and can be deadly. No wonder life expectancy is dropping in this country. Young people need to be in school getting an education or find a real job. Way to much time wasted on social media getting into trouble.
