My cousins BD has just passed......I haven't seen her (or want too) in 40 years.

We have sent cards since we were children........But I will not spend money on a birthday card. A blank note that I have in the house will do.....

That's a hard question. Hubby and I have worked very hard for what we have. Now in retirement years when money is no object we have learned that we only buy what we need.

Expensive cuts of meat. If I lived alone I would not buy it at all. If hubby wants steak, he will buy it cuz I will not. I can live without it.

Grocery bags, I live in NY where the plastic grocery bags are banned. You either have to bring your own bags or purchase bags from the store. The charge is 5 -7 cents per bag. I sometime forget to bring my own bag but will not pay for the store bags. If I forget I just have the cashier put my groceries back in my cart unbagged, and I bagged them when I get to my car.

The purchase of a house that is out of our comfort zone. Years ago we decided we weren't going to be house poor. We purchased a nice house in a good neighborhood but it isn't large and it isn't fancy. We were able to pay if off in a short amount of time.

I never wanted to live beyond our means. Being comfortable and having a nest egg in the bank always meant more to me than a fancy house.

As much as I love to read, I don't buy books. I read so much I can go thru a $27.95 book in two or three days and be ready for another one. I would be spending a fortune on books. I don't want to re-read them either nor have the room to store them

I look for "Coming Soon" at Barnes and Nobel website and reserve books I want to read at the library.

My brother always bought books and when he downsized he had boxes and boxes of books to pack up and get rid of.

Anti-aging moisturizer, serum, special products. A regular moisturizer will do the trick. I would rather save that money I purchase clothes and/or other beauty products skincare and makeup.

I truly can't imagine how much money I have spent on books over the years. Barnes & Nobel, B. Dalton Bookstore, Crown Books to name a few book stores that I use to purchase from. When I was younger (school age) I obtained the majority of my books from the library. When I turned 18 I stopped.

In my head I was still of the mindset that you have to go in and look up the books that you want to read and who has the time for that. So it was just easier to purchase what I wanted.

Back in 2017 I decided to check out the library and wow. I just cannot believe how easy it is to select your books online, pick them up and even renew.

I rarely purchase books anymore.

I came back because I realized that I never answered the question. My answer is books. It's almost impossible for me to purchase them now, with just a little patience I can get them for free at the library.

@house_cat Socks. Can't stand them and never wear them. Yep, even in winter.

I used to buy magazines ALL the time. The only one I still get is People. I remember when the very first issue came out and was hooked. The stories are always short and doable.
