She is up there in years, so I guess it's not surprising. I also think she started to really decline after the death of her husband. She is a remarkable woman. I hope she is comfortable, and surrounded by her family.

@newname0 That's a great picture of her. I'm not a Royal Watcher, but I have great love and respect for her. Charles, meh. Not so much. I'd much rather see Will and Kate in that role.

@Linda0215 Given the Brit's gift for understatement, it would appear that Her Majesty is preparing to go home to the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. My thoughts and prayers are with her, the Royal family, and the British people.

BBC anchors have switched to black suits and ties, and regular programming has been suspended.

For those unaware, this is part of the process in announcing the passing of the Queen in “Operation London Bridge”

@eadu4 Have to agree with you. It certainly seems that way. I think the death of her husband really took the wind out of her sails. She's lived a long, wonderful and fascinating life and I wish her, her family and the British people nothing but the best.

@paixmcdao Oh this is sad. All of the cable channels here have switched over to coverage of her. I'm unfamiliar with the term Operation London Bridge but I'm going to Google it. Thank you for this information.
