I haven't shopped in Macy's for about a year but I love their sales. I don't like anyone losing their jobs either.

I really like Macy's and I would bet the one store near us closes. It's a ghost town and they don't carry everything the others do.

I feel bad for the employees.

Macy's is my favorite department store.

LOVE the sales...I just got some Fiesta towels and pasta bowls and a Fiesta holiday butter dish - huge savings. The butter dish was $30, originally $89.

Ruby Tuesday is closing many of the eating establishments, I believe 27 immediately , and rest over the next year.

the macy store we have at our 2 malls. one may close, when ever you go into that store NO one is in the store. the other macy is so crammed full of make up, clothes, jewelry you can't move very quickly. You fall over counters. It really has become a junky store.

Talbot's closed over the holidays here.

The Macy's in Mesa Arizona (Fiesta Mall) will be closing. Ninety eight people will lose their jobs.

Stores close, stores open. It's business. The same press release announcing the closings also announced the following openings.

New Macy’s stores will be opening in:

University Town Center,Sarasota, FL(160,000 square feet; to open in fall 2014; approximately 175 associates);
Shops at Summerlin,Las Vegas, NV(180,000 square feet; to open in fall 2014; approximately 160 associates);
Mall at Bay Plaza, TheBronx, NY(160,000 square feet; to open in fall 2014; approximately 225 associates);
Plaza Del Caribe, Ponce, PR (150,000 square feet; to open in fall 2015; approximately 275 associates);
Mall at Miami Worldcenter,Miami, FL(195,000 square feet; to open in fall 2016; approximately 150 associates).
New Bloomingdale’s stores will be opening in: Stanford Shopping CenterinPalo Alto, CA(120,000 square feet; to open in fall 2014). It will be an all-new store to replace an older store in the same shopping center;
Ala Moana,Honolulu, HI(167,000 square feet; to open in fall 2015; approximately 250 associates);
Mall at Miami Worldcenter,Miami, FL(120,000 square feet; to open in fall 2016; approximately 225 associates).

The people losing their jobs may be holiday help because 2,500 is not a lot considering the number of stores all over the country.

But I am not impressed with Macy's it is like Dillards..........they don't offer really anything different.

Dillard's is a regional store. We don't have them here.
