It's Cold in Albuquerque!

We're having a monsoon rain event this weekend statewide and its only 62° with 92% humidity. Yikes! That's unheard of in the desert in August. It's also very windy.

Although some areas, mostly Southern parts, have experienced heavy rain and flooding, so far it just been kind of misting in my area. Just enough to water and encourage the weeds.

Too bad because this weekend is Indian Market in Santa Fe, all outside under canopies. The plaza event has been expanded and now includes two other venues in the area. At least they won't be hot 'cause its even cooler there.

Wow we were married 35 years ago today in ABQ. We were new to the area and the Indian Market really made us change up all of our plans since we were supposed to get married in Santa Fe. Loved going to the Indian Market after we had lived there awhile. I met so many interesting people including artists.

Will it be cold enough in the Sandias for any snow on the other side now?

@Trailrun23 No the Sandia are too far South for snow this time of year but I bet its really chilly up there at 10,300 ft.

Amarillo suppose to start raining at 2 and believe it or not suppose to rain till late Sunday. Miracles, still happen , folks !

My mowing crew got in just in time. In and gone. after the rain it willl need it again, but, will give me time off from dragging the 100 ft water hose for couple of days.

@SharkE They're saying the same thing about rain here until tomorrow night but I don't believe it.

@goldensrbest We've been under severe drought for over 20 years. This rainy season has only alleviated it a bit. Our biggest reservoir in the state is at 14% capacity. The Rio Grande at Albuquerque was so dry you could walk across it two weeks ago.

It's rainy season here in Florida, but someone forgot to tell the weather god in charge of my location It has rained 30 miles south of here as well as 20 miles north, but too seldom here in my 20 miles swath. With our sandy soil, I could water an hour after many of the rains we do get.

Still hot and ugly humidity in Connecticut. I never thought I'd say it, but I wish the sun would go away for awhile.

@Kachina624 64° and cloudy here. We had some drizzle this morning. Just made a batch of sourdough chocolate chip cookies. DH loves them and I haven't baked them all summer. They come out soft and cake like. We are enjoying the cooler temps too..

We used to go to Indian Market quite often. It's a beautiful event.....DW

I live in Maine too, it's been a very dry summer. We need alot of rain to catch up with water level's, some well's have run out of water.

We all know that California has been having a drought for years, and there's no end in sight. Since Central CA is predominantly farm land it feeds a lot of the country. Bringing in water is expensive, but necessary, and it affects not only quantities produced, but food prices.

If anyone has any extra water, please send it to the farms in Central California. They will gladly take whatever you have to give.

We are positively giddy here in Dallas-Ft. Worth with the forecast of rain starting Sunday and going all the way through Thursday. Temperatures in the 80s - way below normal. Not a drought-buster but significant -- in fact, we are being warned about the potential for flooding.

This has been a crazy weather year just about everywhere! My relatives in NY Hudson Valley are in danger of having their well go dry. Friends in the Midwest have been riding a meteorological rollercoaster, too.
