Just Got a Phone Call From QVC Corporate Offices

On July 29th I emailed the media relations at QVC regarding the forums not working properly. I got that email address off the QVC corporate site.

I just received a phone call about my email to them. She wanted to know what happened as my email was the first they had heard of any issue accessing the forum site. She asked me several questions including how many days the site was not working, which I told her, for some, as much as 17 days. She sounded astounded when I told her 17 days. She asked me if any notice was posted regarding the issue or had we been told what the issue was or the reason it was not working. I told her no to all.

She said she was glad it was fixed but they will be 'looking into it' (whatever that means.)

Just curious, did anyone else who might have contacted them get a phone call or reply?

I did not contact them. But I can back up your claim that the forum was not working properly. I don't know for how long, but it was more than a few days.

The IT department at QVC leaves something to be desired ......

@ciao_bella Isn't it amazing how loud and long people complain here but how few will go to those who can do something about their complaints? I suppose they must be intimidated or have an attack of shyness.

Thanks for taking the bull by the horns. You should have suggested they occasionally take a peek at the boards. They might be surprised at what they learn.

@Puppy Lips That's really not a fair assessment when we don't know what was wrong, how complicated it was or what was necessary to repair it. There may have been other priorities. I could understand financial matters or sales trumping the boards in importance.

@Kachina624 I did just that! I told her to get a much better idea of what I emailed her about, it would be best if she went to the forum and looked at the compaints herself.

I can't say it surprises me that so many people complained but never followed through with a formal complaint. I guess I've always been one to take the 'bull by the horns'. Being a retired special education teacher for 28 years does that to you..

Good for you @ciao_bella! and thank you both for writing them and letting us know their reply which I find very disappointing.

I guess it shows how uncommunicative all the departments are and how disorganized unless they don't really concern themselves with the forum side of the business?! Who knows but that is crazy.

So we telling mods, and them saying they will "Notify" "the tech dept"-does it ever go anywhere?

I remember when they said they would shut the forums down, it was only due to so many writing and calling and our petition that the ceo finally got notice and read the outcry and then reversed his decision!

I guess now we know. We are an island here far from the powers that be unless they are notified directly!

@Kachina624 that's what i don't understand. Some think they took too long. They have no idea what was involved. Like I Posted on another Thread my son told me you can't just flip a switch.

I did not complain because it did not affected me along with some other Posters and even if it did, I wouldn't have either. There is always something else to do. I leave my complaining for bigger things. 17 days? Was it that long? I read the different Posts but didn't pay attention to the time.

Sometimes I'm not sure the left hand knows what the right hand is doing around here.

BTW, the issues with this site lasted nine days for me. It started on the 20th and came back on the 29th. As I've said before, it started immediately after I cleared cookies on my laptop computer.

@Kachina624 Yes, but it is not just the boards. There other IT issues with QVC. A few examples - I have tried to place an order several times and the system tells me that they can not deliver to my address, the same place I have been getting deliveries for 15 years; a particular size and color item shows that it is available, but when I order, it is not available - go back to the same screen, and it still shows available; a few weeks ago I got an email for a refund of something that I did not even order - how was my email tied to that account? I understand that the forums are not likely a priority. But it seems that there are a lot of IT issues that come up on a routine basis. I think they could benefit from more or better qualified people in that department.

Thank you for letting us know about your action and subsequent response from QVC.

Might I ask that you post the corporate email address that you used that garnered a personal phone response? I've read many people here on the forums that have problems they can't seem to get resolved from customer service. Maybe more emails to the corporate office would get more positive results for those that need it.

Sometimes you have to be careful because it can be an internet problem not related to the Q. Please be mindful of internet blockers that goes with antivirus it will also stop you from getting on to certain websites as well. If your computer or ipad or even your phone has been updated in the last month are so it can cause you acces to the server as well. There are a lot of ways for you to not get on certain websites and blogs so be careful, because there are a lot of scams going around trying to gain acces to your information posing as various website that most people use. I am only saying this to you because I get notices from the IRS everyday telling me this as precaution so I relay this to my clients.

I did call and talk with someone that said they were specifically there for any complaints about any online features on their website.

Explained it to the Rep and she said she would write up a report specific to the Blogs and Forums, and pass it on to the IT Department.

Never got a call, email, or anything back from them. Evidently the one I talked with didn't pass it on to the Corporate Office. Could it be that might be called, "protecting their job"? From what you have said here, it's strange that Corporate didn't know about this because many here said they reported it.

I don't know if this is good news. You really don't want to draw the attention of the big muckety mucks to a non-profit-generating initiative like this forum.

This forum sucks up money and doesn't generate any. If its existence gets enough attention from the people responsible for creating shareholder value...poof! This is exactly the kind of money pit they take full credit for putting on the chopping block, to increase profits.

I never had the problems that so many others had here - my boards were business as usual through all of it.

I just find it so strange that the folks that oversee these boards never reported any of the issues they read about here for weeks to the IT people in Corporate.

That seems so very odd to me.
