I would never watch something that's disturbing but thanks for the warning. I ordered lobster once but I don't remember the name brand but it was awful.

I am "glad" you posted this because we do discuss this every year.

Last year 1400+ white sided dolphins were hunted and killed and even participants in the "grind" (Grindadrap) protested that the number was beyond acceptable for the Faroese culture.

While the gov't has limited the number to 500 for the next two years for white sided dolphin hunting, the dophins are not the only ones hunted.

Other sea mammals such as whales are also hunted and slaughtered.

Sunday night they killed 1,428 dolphins....check the 'Sea Shepherds' website, the Faroe Islands lied.....

@KingstonsMom I believe that number stems from Sept. 2021.

I could be wrong but I know the 1400+ caused the largest outcry last year.

The 500 limit was supposed to be proposed for 2022 and 2023.

I know 60 pilot whales were killed in May 2022.

I know fish is a huge export for the Faroe Islands.

Nevermind. I found the salmon, etc. being sold.

Thank you for posting this @KingstonsMom. Did not know of it. Not that I purchase any seafood online to begin with. I just checked over on HSN and much to my dismay my favorite chef, Curtis Stone also sells salmon from the Faroe Islands. Very sad.

😱Yes, @KingstonsMom I am aware of this atrocity and thank you for posting so others don't support this brutal event. Our innocent animals suffer daily at the hands of humans...this is just one example. And it is a horrific massacre.

The same thing applies to beef, poultry, and pork right here in the U.S. I live in a farming state and the large corporate farms (CAFOs) are so cruel to their animals. It's disgusting. I go out of my way to buy from farms that aren't cruel to their animals.

@CalminHeart , one of the various reasons we don't consume any of the above mentioned.

Somewhat OT, there's a wonderful place called "Farm Sanctuary" who rescues many of these animals and can live their lives in peace. I follow them on facebook and they do great things for these poor creatures.
