I love hearing the crescendo of the frogs rising and falling at night. Has been going on here for several weeks. It is really loud here and took some getting used to (especially for my husband). I like to go out on the deck in the dark and absorb the noise several times a week. Will miss them soon but will be relieved when they quiet down. Just part of living in the country in upper SC.

I love to photograph tree frogs. I find them endearing. They do make a lot of noise for such tiny creatures. I took this a couple of days ago of a Spring Peeper. It was about 1/2 inch long.

A lovely crescendo as you said, a nature's natural sound.

About a month ago,we had some doves appear at my feeder. Since they are "flat-footed feeders", they can't perch and eat at the feeder, so the squirrels usually spill enough when they raid the feeder to keep plenty of seed on the ground below for them. They are still here and appear early morning and just as the sun goes below the tree line west of our home. That gives the whole yard shade, and then they waddle around until dark. They line up in a long row on the pitch of our two story house and coo for the longest time. Love hearing them. We have had so much really hot weather and no rain I am surprised we have had so many birds still here. No rain since June 3 so I always keep a saucer of water in the shade for them. It has many visitors every morning and evening; birds, squirrels, bunnies, a few opossums later in the night, and an occasional raccoon. We also have bobcats, coyotes, and the occasional fox, but they tend to stay down by the creek. They can manage to climb our wooden fence, but it doesn't seem worth the effort to them very often. We do have a neighbor's cat that climbs over and lays in wait for the doves near the birdfeeder....I find little tufts of grey feathers there but they all manage to get away.... They all go back to their nests or safe and cool space until near sundown, then we will see them again. My favorite part of the day.

We have a couple of tree frogs that hang out under the elephant ears where it is shady and cool....relatively. I am amazed how many critters have survived this horrible summer with no end in sight...August is usually the worst and it isn't even here yet.😬
