Oh What a Headache I Have

Fell backwards on the driveway this morning and smacked the entire back of my head. What a whopper of a headache I have. Dang neuropathy makes me so unstable on my feet and balance. Some days I feel like a walk like a drunk person.

I know you probably do not want to @rms1954, but please go to urgent care or your dr. Any head injury like that can be evaluated. They can test by looking at your eyes and other tests whether you are bleeding inside. And you don't want that! Be well, ok?!

Definitely have yourself evaluated for possible concussion.

Have SOMEONE ELSE drive you to the doctor, Urgent Care or ER.

@rms1954 Sorry you fell and DEFINITELY have it checked out as others have said. AND in the future use a cane. I started using one when I hurt my foot. I don't really need one now but I find it gives me a better sense of security when walking especially on the uneven streets of Chicago.

PLEASE! Have your head checked out. Your body may be trying to tell you something since you have a headache.

Urgent care can do Xrays. Maybe they can give you an answer.

Definitely get checked out, the fall you had could involve a brain bleed and I know from experience how dangerous that can be.

Hope it turns out okay, but you won't know unless you have it checked out. Your family and loved ones will be thankful you do.

Please get checked. Same thing happened to my brother this winter. Neighbor saw him & called 911. He couldn't get up. While he was conscious in the ambulance, he passed away in the ER. The hospital was just barely 5 minutes away.

I cry for him every day. Please let us know how you are.

Go straight to the ER where I am sure they will do a ct scan of your brain. Trauma to the head is not something to fool around with.

If you need any more persuading to get yourself to an emergency room, just google Bob Saget, who died recently after falling in his hotel room and hitting the back of his head. Evidently he didn't think it was anything serious, either, but he lay down and died in his sleep. Please go to a doctor!

rms1954, just as others have encouraged you to do, I, too, think it prudent for you to be evaluated ASAP for a concussion. Please do this.

Remember the tragic outcome of actress Natasha Richardson's fall. She ignored her headache, and her family has deep sorrow because of that decision.

From Wikipedia:

On 16 March 2009, Richardson sustained a head injury when she fell while taking a beginner skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort, about 130 kilometres (81 mi) from Montreal. At first, she refused any medical help but complained of a severe headache about two hours after the accident. She was flown to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she died two days later from an epidural hematoma.

As I recall, she fell backwards, hitting her head. I'm hoping and praying for a good outcome for you, of course. Please check out your injury.

A fall like that definitely has to be seen. The severe headache is your body telling you something.

@Sage04 I checked in to see if she had responded also.

Hopefully, she took everyone's advice and is in the process of being taken care of.
