Happy Birthday to one talented gentleman! I was lucky enough to see him and Wings in concert when the Alamodome opened in San Antonio. Tickets were purchased on a lottery system. I was at lunch with friends when I found out my number had been drawn! I called DH immediately. The music was amazing!

@EastCoastGal I've seen him 3X in concert. I could go every night those concerts were so fabulous. I think the ticket money for those was the best money I've ever spent. Just looking at him was jaw-dropping, thinking of all the great songs that came out of that head. And just to be in the same room with a Beatle.....❤

@Pearlee... You saw him 3 times in concert ?!?! Wow! How fortunate you are! Yes! I can imagine how lucky you felt being right there with one of the most talented writers and singers ever! What fabulous memories!! Did you ever see Late Night with James Corden when he picked up Paul for karoke in his car??? It was so fabulous to hear him singing with Paul!!! Then Paul took him around different places... I think one was a house where Paul wrote many songs... Then to top it off Paul surprised a bar by putting on a show there! People were in shock to see and hear Paul singing! I was so happy James Corden had all of that recorded for his show!! It's on YouTube ...As a side note... I'm not able to heart posts or I would have hearted yours! ❤️ There's a heart for your super post!! 😊

You sound exactly like what my wife told me today. She went to England years ago, mainly to see, Sir Paul.

Saw him here live in concert years ago. He puts on the greatest of shows. He was here again more recently, but passed on that one, and gave my ticket to her brother.

It IS so hard to believe he is 80! He is really amazing. I heard someone talking about going to one of his recent concerts and they said he is still going strong! I saw him a few years ago and I was just totally blown away. I had a major crush on him from the moment I first laid eyes on him and I still do! LOL! Long live Paul and Ringo, of course! And by the way, Ringo is fabulous in concert as well, but can't hold a candle to Paul!!!!

There is a very good article in The Daily Mail today about Sir Paul. I really enjoyed reading it. Learned a lot about him I did not know.

He seems to be a good man. I did not know of his close relationship with Julian Lennon.

I was glued to Ed Sullivan when the Beatles were on the first time and have loved Paul and the Beatles ever since. My sister has one of Paul's gold records - signed - in a frame and I keep drooling over it.

I think the best Super Bowl half time entertainment ever presented was when Sir Paul was the guest.

The song "Let it Be" was written by him re his Mother. When he was going thru some bad times, he thought he saw his Mother, Mary, appear to him, telling him to let it be.

We saw him here in Tulsa a few years ago and it was awesome. Never seeing the Beatles in concert, I felt like I was at a Beatles concert. 👏👏 to his band too 🎶🎶

@4kitties Yes, Hey Jude as the DM article mentions, was originally Hey Jules and was indeed written to console Julian Lennon when his parents broke up. I've read dozens of McC biographies so have known that for a long time. I LOVE McC singing that song during the closing credits of the film Yesterday. He has such a sweet voice. 😍

Thanks for the alert about the DM article. I saw it last night before I went to bed.

I hope Sir Paul gets a peerage in honor of this birthday. There has been much speculation about that.

I was about to turn 9 @Pearlee , but I was mature for my age! Who would have EVER thought it! Sir Paul, 80 years old?! Honestly can say he was my first ever love!
