I'm sitting by the phone...

...waiting to find out how BooBoo's teeth cleaning went.

The vet called me before they started any work and I'm dismayed to learn that his teeth are in worse condition than I thought. He's got all the usual crud (he's 9 years old and this is the first time his teeth have been thoroughly evaluated) plus some kind of lesion that will necessitate one or more to be pulled (not worth the effort and money to save them). That said, she also discovered he's already lost a few teeth.

His blood pressure was pretty good, and he seems to be tolerating the general anesthesia well. She'll call me as soon as she's done (already I know it's going to cost almost double what the estimate is because of the unexpected stuff they found).

As long as Boo is ok, I'm fine with it. After all, situations like this are why God gave us credit cards Feel better, Baby Boy!

It's hard to leave them at the doctor's office and even harder is knowing they will be put under. I always try to keep myself busy when he's gone (like cleaning the house) so when he comes home I can spend time with him. My dog went under in June for a cancerous tumor and they cleaned his teeth as long as he was out like a light. All went well. He's an old guy and I was so glad to know he woke up okay. Even worse was when he had to spend the night at the vet's after another dog attacked him and he had surgery. That was the worst night ever. Hope it all works out (for the both of you).

That's good that they did his teeth at the time instead of putting him under again. It's never good to put a pet under anymore than is absolutely necessary. My brother's dog died after having his teeth cleaned.

I hope BooBoo does well, it must have been painful for him to have bad teeth.
