What is your favorite mosquito repellent?

@Flika13 Ding Dong Avon calling. I've had good luck with Avon Skin So Soft, original scent.

Mosquitos don't really bother me. Well, their buzzing sound really bothers me. If I am sitting out, I always light a 3 hr burn incense stick. The smoke keeps them away from me.

Walking the dog, I'll spray a little Deet on my clothes. Deet along w/my BO keeps them from buzzing around me.

OFF is the only one I've ever used because it works. However, we don't have mosquitos in the area where I live so I only dig out the OFF when I go elsewhere.

Do you have low blood sugar ? I had a friend who did and the mosquitoes would eat her up, I mean within minutes she would be covered and have to go to the hospital for shots.

OP, If you have electricity, plug in a fan and run it on low. This keeps mosquitoes away and you don't have to breathe any harmful repellents! It really works! I now enjoy sitting on my front porch in the evening!

We use a Thermocell. Keeps everything away. Mosquitoes have never cared for me, but biting flies see me as a smorgasbord.

Avon's skin-So-Soft is a lovely product for a light body oil, but on me, it doesn't repel mosquitoes!
If I am only outside briefly, I wear a citronella bracelet (can also be worn on ankle)- But if I am out gardening or any period of time, ( it's a deep forest here), I wear DEET based repellant. They love me... 🙄🙄😢

I just read about that recently, and think blowing the little critters away is the best choice.

However, I have also heard that rubbing dryer sheets on your arms & legs discourages mosquitos.

Also, start taking odorless garlic capsules .... some people swear by garlic.

@SharkE That's right, no puddles or water standing anywhere ever. I can't even keep water in my bird bath as it evaporates. We also don't have fleas or ticks and I've never seen a cockroach here.

I don't remember experiencing mosquitos in Amarillo either.

We use a fan when out on the patio. If we are out and about I use Bath and Body Works Eucalyptus Mint body lotion or cream. Both scents are known to repel mosquitos and I dislike chemicals unless I am in an area where ticks might be a problem.

We have hot and humid summers where humidity runs around 90%. We call it sit and sweat. You go outside and your skin is wet within 10 minutes. While I love it, it draws thousands of mosquitoes and I'm a mosquito buffet. Nothing keeps them off of me. If we are at the beach it's heaven. Still humid but no mosquitoes. They can't fly with a breeze and the ocean breeze keeps them away. At home on the patio, I will run a fan and it helps some, but they manage to find me.

I've been trying some essential oil based sprays lately. But I haven't been outside enough to find out if they work. Boku Natural Bug Off.

Last year I tried a "camper's Choice soap" from Herbaria. Loved the smell but not sure it worked.

Looking for a good shampoo bar also.

Deep Woods Off! Sportsmen, 30% Deet. West Nile and Zika viruses have shown up in my area and I'm not taking any chances.
