Song driving me crazy

I have been listening to the radio on FM late at night. I am listening to the current genre, just to get informed!

I have come across a few songs that I have been able to identify, but NOT this one. I have heard it about 3 times, and I can't locate what it might be.

It is current (I think) and seems to be sung by a young, black, man. He is singing sadly about some woman who looks so much like a woman he once loved. He is telling her he can't see her because of that. Just too much heartbreak and has decided he cannot see her and is telling her goodbye.

Any ideas?

No, this doesn't sound familiar. However, whenever I like a song, but I don't know the title and artist, I try to remember the lyrics exactly. You just need a line or two. Go to your favorite search engine and put those lyrics in quotation marks. Most of the time, the whole songs lyrics with the artist's name will come up. Wish you the best in your search. I know how it is to have a song in your head, and you don't even know who sang it.

@hyacinth003 I don't know what the song is either. What I do when I hear a song and want to know what it is, if possible I quickly go online to the radio station's website and find their playlist. Most radio stations list the songs they play. Some radio stations you need to do it pretty close to when they play it, other stations will have longer listings, but you need to know about what time it played. This has been very helpful to me.

Yes, the other suggestion too is good - write down some lyric to search.

Also I believe the iPhone have a what is that song feature? In case you have one or a friend does. I thought I heard it has the capability anyway.

I find it sad and touching! I guess I like it somehow. Since I listen while in bed, I am kind of stuck. I also am learning that many stations don't give you name and artist after playing a certain number of songs. Listening in the middle of the night is so much different than daytime. It's nicer! No traffic, weather, not much talking, few commercials, etc. This changes over at 5am. I don't even know a lot of the stations as I don't generally listen to them.

I have put everything I can remember into searches and don't come up with this song. This woman was with other men and not him. He loved her, she hurt him badly, so this other woman was too much a reminder of her. So he was saying sorry, I can't be with YOU. You look too much like her!

I am getting an education on what is on currently. For good or bad! My favorite find so far is "Levitating" by Dua Lipa. What a fun tune - reminds me of my disco days.

Nope! Seldom listen to the radio. I prefer listening to music on my CD's, or watching concerts I recorded on AXS TV Network. Also have lots of live concerts of my favorites on Bluray DVDS.

If you know some of the lyrics....type them into GOOGLE, and they will come up with the actual song.....or at least a few choices.

Here is a link to the YouTube play of the song U Rrmind Me. This will have Rush singing it so you can see if his voice is the one you're thinking of and the lyrics are right on the screen as the song plays, to compare with what you remember of it.

There are a few ways to locate a song that was played on the radio. One is to go to the station's website. Most stations have a playlist of the songs they use. There are also two other sites that I know of: Spinditty and Shazaam. Both are very good.

I listen to the radio a lot. There's a song that I love to hear from way back. It's played often at night with other oldie but goldie songs or just look it up on YouTube. "Kiss and Say Goodbye" sung by The Manhattans.

DH & I enjoy going to Cracker Barrel a couple times a year. A few years ago, I was in the restroom of all places, and a beautiful, sad, country song was playing over the speaker. I noticed one line being repeated over & over, so googled it when I could. It was "When Someone Stops Loving You" by Little Big Town, and is now one of my favorite songs ever!

@hyacinth003 yes it's sad and true - most radio shows do not give information on the songs they play. def. makes it harder to know what's what - Didn't the purpose of playing songs on the radio used to be that people would then buy the music? Meaning people would need to know what it is to know what to buy. Anyway, you really can try the radio station website and you may be able to find it. You could check the next morning / day with some of the stations (not all) and still be able to locate your song. Just know what time you heard the song - it will be the way to locate it.

You could google on your phone at night if you want to accomplish it when the song is playing. Also, I wanted to suggest you record part of the song on your phone so you could play it back and write down some of the exact lyrics. You could also play it for people you know and see if they know who it is.

This could all be moot, as people here have suggested that it's a song by Usher. Do they have it right? Is that the song?

Check the radio station's website or APP sometimes they post their playlist. Or call the station and ask the DJ.

Yes, that is absolutely the song! I was surprised to see it is from 2009.

I watched the "official video" on You Tube, then I listened to it without the video. It is much sweeter without the video! It seems sweet and emotional without the video. With the video it sounds much more trite!

I did search with any lyrics I thought I remembered. Nothing came up for me. Hearing it again, the lyrics were there but not in my memory well enough.

@Silver Lining Great song but that is about a man breaking off a relationship because he has "obligations" and she has "ties" in the first set of lyrics.

"I've got ties and so do you" in the next set of lyrics.

It was assumed this was an affair between two married persons.
