@SeaMaiden Aren't the costly items in every category more or less the same?

Whether it's Dyson or Teslas or huge diamonds or waterfront mansions, lots of us turn to readily available alternatives.

If you are looking for cheap get yourself a lesser brand like Shark.We only buy Dyson. It is superb in keeping my house clean.

I gave mine up because I couldn't get it repaired locally. I switched to shark which I've seen in many salons.

Dyson is selling their name. I find their prices to be over the top and I am sure there is only a 1 year warranty.

Not sure if this is a question or complaint...but if it's a question, I'd say for 2 reasons: first, because it has a high level of engineering and manufacturing that costs more, and second, because they can.

This is a choice, not a competition. As in so many categories, there's a premium brand and there's a gap between that and other brands in thes same category. They don't really compete with each other, because if you want one, you don't want the other. Nothing wrong with buying a Dyson and nothing wrong with buying a Shark/Bissell/Hoover/Etc., either.

If this is a complaint, I have no answer, except I feel personal choices aren't ridiculous, just different. And people prioritize their choices for all kinds of reasons. I can think of a dozen reasons to choose a Dyson or a Shark, for example, and if you give me five minutes, probably another dozen. I love choices!

When you purchase a Dyson it is the technology that you are paying for. Dyson is a company that improve products that have not be updated for years.
