95% of the time I turn on exhaust in kitchen. I like Fabreze the best otherwise and Ocean is my favorite.

We never use products like these. I don't think synthetic fragrances are healthy, especially for our cat. I prefer opening windows or the door to the deck, just off the dining area.

I light soy candles instead of using spray air freshners....

I either bake cookies or put a pan of water with ginger, cinnamon, and clove on the stove to simmer. I don't like chemical fresheners.

@goldensrbest I know you have cold winters where you are so opening windows may not always be the best solution for you.

I do not use commercial sprays but you can make your own.

Spray bottle (4oz size)

30 drops of essential oil (lavender is always a fave)

1 TBS witch hazel (or rubbing alcohol)

Swirl a few times to combine the oils and witch hazel

Then add:

1/2 C distilled water (you can use tap but the scent can be "off") You should have a little room left at the top for shaking before use.

There are commerically made natural fresheners out there-just be careful about ingredients.

Lysol. Its the only thing I use. I quit using the "smelly" ones a long time ago.

@occasionalrain I am going to sit outside your windows and enjoy the scent coming from your stove!! What a nice idea. There might be a trip to the spice aisle for me this week.

It's what my mother and grandmother did. In the winter, when the humidity is low, it adds moisture to the air, an added benefit.

Odium; just a tiny puff will do ( eliminates all smells). My Son discovered it as a teen when he would smoke or puff on the down low.

I use one called "PET ODOR" from the Vet. Amazon and Chewy carry them. They have spray and candles.

It takes less spray...kills all odors (not just pets) and the candles are great. Very mild scent but no odors!

Both me and my dog sneeze less using this brand!

Assortment of scents...I love Happy Daze!

I hesitate to add even more to the air I breathe. A good exhaust fan is a wonderful thing.

I use candles, but if you have lingering odors, you can sit out charcoal.

I use the exhaust fan or open a window, weather permitting. I will burn a stick of incense sometimes. Then the house smells of incense but I like it. Better than smelling cooked cabbage and onion.

@Cakers3 I use tap water and essential oil in a sprayer...no witch hazel...what does witch Hazel do? Also why distilled water over just tap water? Just curious!🙂
