I see the other one is not about the ban. I just read this story. He can't participate virtually either. Doesn't matter, he didn't attend the awards every year. This amounts to almost nothing, which is what I thought from the outset.

People usually come to the Oscars when they are nominated. He's boycotted them before. He can still be nominated for films if he ever gets that lucky again, and still win. Someone else will have to receive it on his behalf.

So, so much for the big to do.....

Boy, that will teach him a lesson. Making him ineligible for awards for a year ot two along with an attendance ban might have made a greater impact.

He should treasure his Oscar because I have a feeling that is the only one he is going to receive. He probably didnt think he was going to get the award this time that is why he hit Chris Rock. I think that Chris Rock should present the Oscar for best actress next year

So much for the people claiming it was a publicity stunt.🙄

Clearly, it was very much intentional. Will needs some anger management classes in addition to his ban.🙁🤭

I wish something would have been done that night, instead of letting him stay and get a standing ovation. He should be banned from all award shows.

I still believe it was a publicity stunt. I will always believe that. So the powers that be "acted" according their rules and by laws, and Smith got a slap on the wrist? What does he suffer from, as a result of his outburst?

Nothing......not attending the Oscars for ten years is easy to do. Meanwhile this so called big to do will give the Oscars some much needed ratings boosts. It is no longer boring (I think that's what they were going for) @Trinity11 .

These are just my observations having followed the careers of all involved, their relationship with the Oscars and the man still has his statute.

I seriously doubt that he will ever get another Oscar. He just lucked out this time. There are many one hit wonders who won one Oscar and never won again. Will Smith is in this category.
