Just a heads up...I did not realize that the cash rewards credit expires at the end of each year. So i lost about $33 dollars in rewards. It would be nice if they sent a reminder to use them...we only go about every other month and I forget...

Call Costco headquarters in Washington and ask if they will extend the deadline - one thing about Costco, they are a very consumer friendly.

You can also "cash out" your rewards. You can get cash or like us this past weekend we had 650 in rewards and spent 250 so they gave us the difference in cash. I am sure they will extend the date for you they are very accomodating.

@bargainsgirl They do send e-mails as reminders on a regular basis. I would check with them and make sure my e-mail is correct. They are very easy to work with, so you may be able to recoup your loss.

What is a cash rewards credit?

I get a check from my Costco Visa in February and it's usable/cashable until end of year

I get a check in July from my Executive Membership card spending.

Is it one of those?

am I missing another cash back?

Costco sends a certificate for the rewards. It's up to the member to remember to use it, same way as using a coupon.

As for the Costco branded Visa card rebate, I never use it at the warehouse. I cash it and deposit the money in my bank account. Even if I plan on earmarking it for a particular purchase, I'll make the new purchase with my card so I get the rebate on the purchase and then pay the charge with the money that was deposited into my bank account. It's a double whammy that way. I just brought my credit card rebate certificate to the warehouse yesterday. It was over the limit of the cash payout so they wrote me a check.

We just received our February rewards certificate. It was great this year, because they changed it so you can directly deposit it into your bank account from the Citibank website. No need to go to Costco to redeem it.

@bargainsgirl Costco does send emails or at least they used to. It's too early in 2022 for this year's reminders and I will spend mine long before notification time.

can you explain what rewards they give with executive membership. I get a cash back in July (my anniversary month) for being an executive member and a rebate check from Costco Visa in Feb.

There is one caveat. My membership expires in Dec. I get the rewards sent to me in February But ONLY if I am a current member. So that keeps you needing to join every year to get the cashback. If you don't renew you lose the rewards.

As far as I know there are 2 kinds of rewards at Costco - the one from being an Executive member and the one for using your Costco CitiCard for purchases.

I learned this year that the Executive reward can be used ONLY at Costco, with no cash out. I live 90 miles from the closest Costco, so trying to get there to use it is a challenge.

I contacted Costco Customer Service and was told I could sign and send my Executive reward to an address they provided. They then sent me a Costco Cash Card that can be used in-store or for online purchases.

It's not too early for the reminder. They emailed me a reminder yesterday, & I was really glad they did because they had sent me my Rewards Cert Feb 24 & I had forgotten about it.

I have never received any reminder emails from Costco, but I usually spend the money on my next trip there or take the rest in cash.

I convert them to gift cards so they don't expire and save them for something I really want.
