My friend Tova left us this week.

From the moment she walked into QVC, she spread not just her fabulous Signature fragrance, but a class and elegance unlike anyone before her. Her clothes and her jewelry were magnifencent. I once asked her if she owned a pair of jeans and she laughed. But what was the best about Tova was her genuine interest in others and her true caring.

She was generous to all. I watched how she interacted with hotel maids and restaurant servers alike. Everyone was a friend, everyone received respect .

Plus she was an extraordinary gift giver. If you admired something, it was yours.

When I got engaged to Steve and announced my retirement from Q, she sent us to Hawaii as her pre-wedding gift. When my friend ran through her last bottle of Tova, and it wasn’t available anywhere, I called to ask if she might have a spare bottle around for my friend. I would happily purchase it from her. The next day, a bottle was in my mailbox.

I loved going to her house. Ernie would sit in his chair and she’d serve him like queen to his king. We had hot dogs and baked beans, coupled with old stories and laughs. Everything was always about comfort and enjoyment.

And she never missed a birthday or holiday greeting. Her electronic Rolodex must have held thousands of friends.

Tova would make a personal appearance and stay for the very last selfie or autograph. She flew all over the world with her incredibly devoted right arm Linda, and she worked tirelessly. No one had more energy or dedication to her business. But she always remained kind, no matter what.

She will leave a big hole in our world, but we know she will be entertaining with Ernie, telling stories, sipping her favorite vodka and laughing with that dusky sultry laugh, and she will definitely make heaven smell much prettier.

Farewell girlfriend. Your Signature will remain indelible.

From Leah Williams: I was saddened by the news of the passing of Tova Borgnine. She embodied elegance and grace, but her kindness, humor, and generosity of spirit are what I will miss most. I offer my condolences to her family and to all who knew and loved her.

Wow! I'm surprised that QVC as a company didn't acknowledge her death.

RIP, Tova. I wore her Signature and Body, Mind and Spirit fragrances for many years.

ETA: I now see from reading the Beauty forum that QVC did acknowledge Tova's passing.

They did acknowledge her passing.

A beautiful tribute on the QVC Facebook page and a banner message on websites home page. In addition, they aired a photo tribute between programming on Monday following each host's comments, the screen then going dark.

All in all, quite fitting and appropriate.

@Mmsfoxxie Are you serious? I've never seen as much acknowledgment for anybody as they've done for Tova. I saw a remembrance with her photo on the screen at least 10 times and all the hosts have acknowledged her passing..

She had a certain mystique and allure that always intrigued me, even in my late twenties when I first started watching QVC. She is definitely of a different era, one of refined elegance.

Refined elegance is the perfect way to describe Tova. She had such a ladylike demeanor to her that just embodied her poise and sophistication.
