Is Your Glass Half Empty or Full?

My glass is half full.

What are some of the things in your glass if it's half full? What do you want to add to your half full glass?

If your glass is half empty, did you dump some of it out or did it just become that way over a period of time? Do you plan on leaving it this way?

Are you using this in lieu of the words "optimism or pessimism" in one's life? That is how I have seen this "phrase" used mostly over my lifetime. If so, my answer is an easy one, and I can even make it a short one, which is uncharacteristic for me.

My glass is full every day @gertrudecloset I have a small family that's still with me, my birds are healthy and still with me. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, climate control with a furnace and A/C, access to fresh water, a working car, clothes on my back and shoes on my feet. In case you can't tell I greet each day with gratitude.

Definitely half full! As for what will fill it completely? All the good things to come. Even if there are troubling times I know I'm not alone. No matter what our circumstances in life there are others who care.

@gertrudecloset My glass is full. I know who I am and whose I am and where I am going. The bumps in the road are expected but I know I am never alone.

I wish I could say my glass was half full, but I'm a glass half empty. It's just that I feel I can never catch a break and am a pessimist. My mother who is gone was a glass half full, she was the eternal optimist, always smiling, I wish I had inherited those qualities from her.

My glass is very full in my personal and spiritual life…

but to be honest, at work, as a MICU RN, right now I’m lucky if there is even one drop of water left in the glass. 😭
