My husband has medical issues and it's time for follow-up doctor visits, scans and labwork so I pulled out the few I had left from the first round.

Knowing that we are going to be in and out of medical facilities I ordered a bunch from Amazon last week before the announcement was made about them being a better choice than the blue surgical masks.

I'm glad I did it when I did because I have a feeling they will be in short supply.

They do fit better and they don't make our glasses fog either.

Many sites are sold out of kn95 mask ,just happened to see n95 ,on sale ,thought i would let people know.

Well, you're not supposed to re-use the blue surgical or the KN95's but people do...

Yes, @Fresher you can reuse them. You can use them for up to one week, as long as they are not dirty or soiled in any way. That was per a Medical Doctor. He said just store them where they get a lot of light.

N95 (and KN95 masks) can be reused for 3 to 4 days. They can also be disinfected by placing them in steam for 5 minutes.

@goldensrbest - Yes, there was a suggestion about this to prevent the mask from getting dirty in between uses.

Thanks for the heads up @goldensrbest.

I don't reuse the n95's because I figure if I pass someone with covd, ick I don't want to re-use it!

I don't care what they recommend. Reusing a mask that has been out around people, in stores or office,

doesn't make sense to me.

The only masks I've ever paid for were the Disney cloth masks. The N95s I get for FREE at my doctor's office, out door pop up testing sites (walk thru) & the regular testing sites (walk through).

I would suggest that you folks check out the above where you live.

Heads up for South Joisey folks:

2nd weekend of EVERY month, there will be a pop up site inside the Cherry Hill Mall at Forever 21 (across from Nordstroms).

@Mz iMac I miss that mall....I grew up within walking distance and it's been many long years since I've been there....I remember when Macy's was Bambergers and there was a tropical court in front of Strawbridges with exotic birds.

Places where I use to work I had to wear N95s for long periods of time. They weren't comfortable and they left deep marks on my face after they came off ...and those marks took forever to go away. Each time when I put one on I had to go through a required breath test to check for leaks. The masks are worthless if you don't have them on the right way.

Supposedly if you keep them in a closed paper bag you can reuse it in 24 hours. The virus dies in that length of time. I would give it 48 hrs if you are unsure. Has to be paper and not plastic so the moisture can get out and not cause more issues.

I ordered a package of 10 for my husband and me just in case we go somewhere that requires them. Otherwise I haven't worn a mask since last year other than in a doctors office where unfortunately they are required and then it's a mask that's barely a mask but it makes the receptionists happy. As soon as I'm out the door off it comes. I will reuse the same N95 until it falls off my face. I'm not going to keep giving these companies my hard earned money for a throw away mask. From what I've heard they are hot and hard to breath in. I can't imagine wearing one in an Arizona summer.

I used the surgical ones til a few months ago. I use the Kn95 now. I just read about putting them in a brown bag for a couple of days. I use them only about 20 hours total. I only touch the handles.

I spent 2 months in Italy recently. Over there masks have been mandatory for 2 years. Now they have to be worn outside too.

In my state intensive care units are 95% full.

In Italy only 18% are full.
