I had to look this up. At first it said I had to sign up which I didn't want to do before trying the game at least once. I found a site that allowed me to try it for free.

Anyway, played once and got the word on the 4th try.

The original game has no ads and you don't sign in. You can play once a day, everyone plays the same game that day (same word).

My DH and I play at the same time to see who gets the word first.

Jimmy Fallon got me hooked. It's fun

You made me look. So far I've made four guesses, and have the last three letters in place. It sort of reminds me of the game Mastermind, but harder.

@Mz iMac when I first read there were hints I thought that meant hints in the form of sentences giving us some guidance by way of meaning or usage of the word. After I thought about it, I realized the hints were the colored blocks. So I went back and deleted that from my orig post.

Wait! No, don't be too impressed! I need to verify that it took me to the fourth line to figure out the word by using the information provided in what I realized were the "hints". Hope that makes sense. I'm usually decent at word games but I'm not THAT good!

Exactly. We used to play Mastermind as kids. My parents were both teachers so logical games, not TV, was our entertainment.

trying this for the first time today. first try i had two right letters, but both in the wrong position.....the rest are wrong. in my second try i have one in the right position, one in the wrong position, and the rest are wrong. how long do you usually work on these if you are playing? i heard these are a big hit at the office these days!

I hadn't heard of Wordle until yesterday when it was featured on a local tv talk show. I tried it and solved it with my third word.

This game goes too fast. I prefer Crypytoquips.

@sunshine45 Not sure what you mean when you ask how long do people work on these. You get six guesses. If you don't get the correct word in six tries, it's over. There's only one puzzle per day.

Thanks. Love puzzles. Taught gifted students and used logic and word puzzles.

Solved this one in 4 steps! Beginner's luck or critical thinking.

My daughter in law turned me on to this a few days ago. So far I've played every day and enjoying it because it doesn't take too long. I've never been a fan of word games before.

That's a fun game, I'd never heard of it. Hubs and I got it in 3 tries tho we used different words....(except at the end, of course)....

yes, i know that. was just wondering do you try to solveit all in one sitting or do you take notes and leave it for a while and then come back to it?
