Anyone smell phantom flowers?

For the last month or so, I have been smelling a woman's flowery cologne. No one else does. Usually this happens only when I am in the living room.

I have no candles burning or present, no articles of clothing that belong to anyone about and no females other than me in the house. I don't use fabric softener, or scented laundry detergent or room sprays.

I don't smell it all of the time, mostly at night, but I smell it now. It smells wonderful, but is driving me crazy trying to figure out it's source.

It doesn't smell like roses which I know is linked to angels and spiritual things.

Anyone have any idea of what it could be?

@Carmie Just be glad your phantom isn't a skunk. It could be worse than flowers.

@Carmie. Does the fragrance remind you of anyone? I do believe that sometimes a loved one may be near. Call me crazy, but, sometimes strange things happen.

Does it smell familiar relating to any female relatives who may have passed, but stopped in for a visit?

My jokester brother visits and electronics turn themselves on and off, TV changes the channel, jacks up the volume, while DH & I are on the couch with the remote on the coffee table.

He's a real joker, that one! But I love his visits, I know that he's close to me.

That's wild... anybody else been there? Changed any of your daily supplies i.e., bathing, t.p., cosmetics, any new rugs or bedding, your car, opened a window, fireplace, curtains, pet's supplies? I could go on and on but I am noticing more fragrance in stuff that doesn't need it - spray starch and sizing, furniture polish/dust repellents or I'm becoming more sensitive. Had to change trash can liners recently because of fragrance.

You'll figure it out @Carmie just enjoy it?!?

I think I read a thread on this forum a while back about communication with relatives or friends who had passed away. There might have been some posters saying there's no such thing and you said there is because you have experienced it. I don't remember exactly but I think you said your son is also clairvoyant. Maybe the lovely fragrance you're receiving is a signal or something. Anyway, please ignore me if I have this all wrong.

The smell doesn't remind me of anyone. I have had many experiences with spirits, so I thought about that. But if this smell is coming from a spirit, it is one I am not familiar with.

I thought maybe I was nuts, but I don't smell it outdoors, or in other rooms. I even checked to see if the Kleenex was scented. I don't smell it all of the time.

I sure hope I don't have another strange spirit in my house. My youngest son is tuned into spirits like I am. I often accuse him of bringing his housemates with him when he visits.

Oh, how I hate this. I might have to get some sage to burn and hope that the smell goes away.

I smell cherry pipe tobacco when my late grandpa comes to visit me...I use to question how & why but now just say hi, miss you, love you, watch over my family & stay close.

We have had spirits at our house too as have my youngest son at his house. They drain the batteries from the phones and IPads and drive my dogs crazy.

My dogs don't seem to be bothered, so I don't know if the smell is related to spirits.

I have a younger brother who has passed. He has never come for a visit, but he used to be in all of my dreams. He never said anything or did anything, he was just sitting on a chair or walking by...all passive stuff.

Finally, I noticed that he wasn't bald anymore. He had a full head of hair. Once I figured out what he wanted to show me, he never was in a dream again.

@Carmie I have smelled phantom smells for years. I chalked it up to some kind of autoimmune thing, of which I have many, or my olfactory getting old. I usually smell perfume or cigar smoke. Not really related to anyone I know, and not offensive.

There could be a medical reason for smelling those flowers. It's called phantosmia.

I thought the same until I found out that my husband was using some kind of new bags in the kitchen garbage pail with the scent of lavendar and roses. Wow, were they strong! The entire house was beginning to smell like lavendar. Ugh.

We lost him in a horrific car accident with a drunk driver during the holidays a few years ago (seems like yesterday), so he always comes to say hello around the holidays.

With me, DH and our adult daughter here, it's common to hear, "Hey Uncle Ron!", when he starts playin' with us, LOL!

@kitcat51 - Well, this spooked me! (No pun intended.)

Because I was going to mention my niece who often would smell cherry pipe tobacco in her home, when she was alone. No one in her home used that, but in the living room in one particular corner, she'd often smell it quite distinctly.

It was an old farmhouse and she eventually started researching its history, only to find someone still alive who knew a previous owner. A man who used to sit there and have his pipe of cherry tobacco in the early evening. She even got his name, so forever after, when she smelled it, she would just say hello to him. She never felt threatened.

Every female in my maternal family line has had the same gift. I believe and I've had many experiences of my own. It doesn't matter to me whether others believe or not.

Someone is visiting from the other side. When this happens, sometimes it's a relative, other times someone who lived there before. They'll go away if you want but it could be that they're there to protect you, etc. so be careful what you request.

I was able to zero in on my latest 'phantom' scent: hubby bought scented doggie bags and opened a pack lol. I had no idea where the scent was coming from until my nose tracked it down to hubby's coat pocket lol. Boy did I LOVE the scent - fresh and clean! Good luck in your search but from the way it sounds, it just might be something a whole lot less tangible.
