I have a large walk-in pantry, and it's truly magical. Every time I walk in there, I look around and can't remember what I came in for. As soon as I walk back out into the kitchen, I remember.

Yup, I can relate too.

Sometimes, I swear, it will take me three tries before I remember what it was I went to another room for. By the third one I'm just saying the thing out loud all the way there (good thing I'm alone most of the time!). I just keep saying it over and over and over until I'm actually on it. That works pretty well!

My problem isn't so much remembering why I went into a room as much as getting distracted and starting another project. I'll go into the bedroom to pick out a purse and then I'll think boy I really need to organize my purses. Suddenly my five second chore becomes a 45 minutes purse reorganization.

The other day my husband asked me if we had any strawberry jelly. I told him I would look while he went to the mailbox. He came back in the house just a few minutes later and I already had half of the cabinet emptied out. He asked me what was happening and I said I just thought I would use that time to clean out the cabinet. He just took the jelly, shook his head, and walked away. By now he knows my propensity for deciding at a moment's notice to clean and reorganize.

I always finish a project before starting another but there are times that I have to work on not feeling like everything has to be a project. I have to tell myself, just get the jelly and shut the cabinet door. Lol!
