If you Google the title of this thread you'll get the stories.

Apparently the Royal Family and guests are weighed in when they arrive for the Christmas celebrations and ideally have gained three pounds when they leave at the end of the visit, when they are weighed again.

I can't believe this, but I wouldn't put anything past this conspicuously consuming family.

What's your opinion - true or false?

My opinion is that it's false. Overly polite and proper, the royal family would be appalled by such gauche behavior. On the other hand.....

It seems to be a tradition that dates back to Edward Vll's reign in the early 1900's. time. It supposedly started by the king to see that his guests had a good time and were well fed. It supposedly occurs at Sandrigham estate in Norfolk, using a pair of antique scales. I think there is no reason to disbelieve this. In 2018, Ingrid Stewart, the editor of Magesty Magazine and author of several books on the royal famiy, was interviewed and confirmed this story. This would still not be confirmation from a member of the family, but the lady is considered credible.

I wouldn't be surprised that this was true. Just watched Spencer and although it's fictionalized, I'd throw myself down the stairs if I had to "holiday" the way the Royals do. The more I read and learn, the more I realize how ridiculous the whole royal notion is in contemporary times.
If you watched The Crown, the Royals play a word game called "Ibble dibble" and mark their faces with a burnt cork.
Royals, they are just like everybody else. Lololol.
