Words On Doormats

I don't want Welcome or Wipe Your Paws, Happy Holidays...on my door mat. Unfortunately, wordless mats are hard to find.

Is it that most others want worded mats, so that's what's stocked, or that others don't, and got to the store before me and bought all the wordless ones?

So I'm asking, what is your feeling toward doormats?

Amazon and Wayfair have tons of wordless mats. QVC has some also.

I do my best not to be one. I bought mine many years ago from Frontgate. It doesn't have words, only a black border.

I try not to be one too, while at the same time remain thoughtful, considerate.

@Janey2 Thank you, I just assumed Amazon and Wayfair would just have wordy mats like those in the stores.

I'm very picky about my door mats. I don't like that scratchy coconutty kind, can't think of what it's called. But it come off in bits sometimes.

I like mine to be a fabric more like a carpet.

Mine are all from either Frontgate or Garnet Hill. I have an imprinted anchor in a dark gray on my back deck coming out the kitchen door and a brown one with a starfish imprinted at the front door.

I agree. I don't want anything printed or drawn on my doormats and it is hard to find them in the size I must use. Doubtful many others want them either. That's why all the blank ones are gone and the ones with words on them are still in the stores.

we have four doors, so four doormats.

i DO like words on doormats so usually at least one or two have words.

you may want to look into doormats from EVERGREEN. the basic black mats come with interchangeable inserts. they have lots of inserts that do NOT have words, yet you can change out throughout your mood or the seasons. i first discovered them at hallmark stores, but amazon and other places online have them also.

those are called COIR.....i actually like those because they are great for getting dirt off of shoes. i change mine out frequently.

I don't like the coir mats because they make a mess when it is tracked into the house. I have a weird, angled entrance in front of my front door, so I have to use a smaller mat and they can be hard to find. Home Depot and Evergreen have the best choices I have found. Ace Hardware carries the Evergreen line here.

Since the UPS drivers in the last couple of weeks seem to think we work for them and throw the packages anywhere in the last four houses on our street for us to sort out, I have been thinking of getting one with our house number in BIG numbers.

Although it's not like it's not in big letters already in the mailbox column. But seems they can't read.

I have three Water Hog door mats. Two are indoors and one outside. They are at least five years old and look like new.

They're easy to clean...I vacuum them and take them outside and hose them down a few times a year. Inside I have hardwood floors and they keep my floors clean, they lie flat and no one trips on them. And, they don't move around or stain my floors.

They are the best mats ever. They come in many sizes and shapes and colors.

I got mine from LLBean, but they are sold elsewhere too. I guarantee you will love them. They are 100% worth the price.

They are a good investment that will last a lifetime...

I decided to try bath mats inside our patio room and only other entry door, garage into house. Find them to work very well and for me they are much easier to clean that those dirt grabbing big, thick mats.

Nothing written on ours, but if there were? "Get out very carefully", bathroom mats now, used in a bathroom.

I saw a ton of wordless doormats on Big Lots online so I'm sure their stores have many. Walmart, Bed, Bath Beyond etc same. Not sure what the dilemma is. I'm replacing mine at Big Lots,

@Duckncover I have that same angled entry. I didn't realize it could be a "problem" when I bought the place......until the movers couldn't get the furniture in the house that way. Had to bring it thru the garage....down a long hallway with a dog-leg..... (It was a challenge, to say the least.)
