If you're looking for a fantastic vacuum that is BETTER then a Dyson, and is also about a 1/4 of the cost of a Dyson, then I've got the one for you.........the Bissell Heavy Duty........this thing is amazing........lifetime belt, bagless, two motors and suction power you would not believe..........for all floors and the cost......under $150........I own a Dyson and I just gave it to my daughter, I LOVE THIS BISSELL............the last vacuum I was really impressed by was the Fantom Thunder, until they sold the company..........best vacuum I ever owned.........until now.............................................raven

I was checking the reviews on Amazon which say it is very heavy and clogs often. Is this not your experience raven?

it IS heavy.........there is no denying that........but clog, NO.........when I first went to use it, I didn't see a sock under the couch till the last moment........the next thing I knew that sock was up and spinning around in the canister........and this was one of hubs tube socks........I would have thought that would have brought to whole show to a stop, but nope..........I also like that I can turn the brushes off for my laminate floors.......I haven't had a problem with it clogging at all.......but it IS heavy, I just look at it as my exercise for the day......free weights LOL.....................................raven

Gotcha...Thanks for the info. I too have a Dyson which I love but one day will have to replace. I have had the Dyson about 9 years and it has never lost suction.

I gotta put in my two cents worth: I've had my Rainbow for 19 years now--it still works like it did when it was brand new! I've never seen a vacuum that cleans as well as a Rainbow.

I have a Bissell that I used only a few times. It is so heavy that I did not want to use it. Now it is in the Shed. It is almost brand new. I think I used it 3 times. I have a Shark Rotator Professional and it is the best I have ever used.

I had the Fantom Thunder too. When the motor burned out, I bought a heavy duty Bissell. It is heavy, but it really works well...especially on the pet hair. Lots of suction...no clogs.

I just bought a Shark with the rotating head and I love it. Got mine at Target for about $160.00

I don't have any pet, but have a couple of dogs that stay with me from time to time.

I have a Rainbow too. Mine is about 7 years old. I've never, ever had a vacuum clean like this one does. I vacuum often and I am always amazed by how black that water gets!

It was very expensive, but worth every penny.

I had two of the Bissells...both developed electrical problems.

I switched to the Shark - got it on sale at Kohl's...it is working great.

I have a Dyson and love it. The one thing I do is take it all apart and clean all the mechanisms then use canned air to get rid of the fine dust. I also clean the brush. It works so well all of the time. I had two Electrolux before this. The last Electrolux wasn't the same. Ithink another company bought out Electrolux and the quality went down the tubes.

I've had Bissells, Eurekas, Sears, and a Fantom. I was going through them every 2 to 3 years. I got a Dyson and that original machine is still going strong 10 years later. I now have 4 Dysons and won't buy anything else.

Count me among the Shark fans. I had two Dysons and gave both of them away. Love my Sharks!!!! I just can't do a heavy vacuum cleaner.

Win, I got the basic Shark sweeper at Walmart and it does the job, for a sweeper..., which, for me, is for quick clean-ups between vacuuming. I think it was about fifty bucks. They had another, slightly more expensive model that was wider, but that was exactly what I didn't want...

I have the original Dyson and love it but it is heavy and it is cumbersome, so was in the market for a smaller, lighter weight vacuum and have heard good things about the Sharks... I too would love to know which model those of you who have and like it have purchased...
