Two Days Ago Saw Outdoor Christmas Lights Up!

Two days ago we saw Christmas lights up and running in our neighborhood!

I think it's great! Maybe it's a good year to spread some joy and beauty a little early. So we're calling to schedule ours too!

And no they weren't halloween lights--there are quite a few of those too, and inflated spiders (love them!) seem to rule for that this year. And a number of very tall goblins are out too

@Sooner We're putting our Hanukah tree this weekend. the holiday is very early this year..beginning of Dec. We usually take it down the end of jan...I'd leave it up all year if it didn't look strange.

I love the white twinkling lights and ornaments we've purchased through the years along with some the GDs have made.

You're right, it's never too early for something shiny and cheerful.

There have been a couple of posts on the local website about putting up Christmas lights. People were looking for someone to put up their lights and people looking to put up Christmas lights.

I can't wait to see the neighborhood lite up for Christmas. Just about every house is decorated for Halloween or Fall. They all look so nice.

@Sooner At our October HOA Board meeting, a resident suggested that since the holiday lights were already in place, this would be a good year to turn them on right away. The Board voted yes and almost the whole group of us applauded that decision.

I love the enthusiasm I'm seeing in early decorating. People are anxious to have a more normal Christmas return. Bringing out the lights early sets the tone for the season.

I'm probably going to put up my tree in the next week, or two. It's a lot of work, not to be able to enjoy it as long as possible. Time passes too fast not to make the most of it.

The trees in the backyard have solar lights on them and function all year long with Holiday lights.

@millieshops WIsh I had some palms to put them up! However, good for you all and yes, it is a great year to light up early!

Just got mine taken down last weekend! The guy who takes care of them got cancer and has been in treatment all year. Rather have him well then worry about lights.

They are a brown cord on brown facing so they were barely noticeable! Will put them back up after Thanksgiving!

I put my holiday tree up today! Usually I do it the day after Halloween, but it worked into my schedule better.

I use Valerie's older 7' glistening tree with sugared, beaded fruit swags, picks and hanging ornaments. The other pieces of hers match. With pheasant feathers as a topper it's taller and can remain for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Last year I did all glass birds.....the fruit is so easy & fast!

We have ours done by a lighting company. They start now to meet the demands and today I was at my nieces house (all large homes) and hers & almost all in her neighborhood had them already up.

Of course, she won't lite until after Thanksgiving but as driving thru neighborhoods we say many lit.

Bringing joy a little early but Halloween decor was amazing too this year!-

I'm ready but HOA says "no way"..🤷‍♀️

@Allegheny Sorry, I use an I pad and haven't learned how to send pictures! The old glistening slim tree is so easy that I purchased the three foot size this year on sale.

We decorate outside for Halloween and Thanksgiving, so our Christmas lights have to wait. In our cooler climate, it's common to put the outside lights up while it's still in the 50's outside.

Last year many put up Christmas lights and their trees really early due to everyone having been inside for so long due to the pandemic....everyone needed some cheering up. We drove two of our youngest grandsons around town so they could see the lights...they were delighted and we both loved seeing them as well. So many here have to use pros to put up their lights due to the tall and steep rooflines....so you have to schedule early just to have them up in time for Christmas. They are already putting them up several places here. Even a restaurant has already started wrapping their patio trees with green and red lights. If pros put your lights up, you are on the list for takedown and that could be as late as mid January. Since Covid, I don't care how long they stay up...I never get tired of seeing them.
