i wonder what her next venture or adventure will be?

Daily sit-ups, leg lifts, and touching toes will serve the same purpose, but with longer lasting results.

I am happy that she has become so rich, but what does this say about her customers' perceptions of their bodies?

Glad her employees received a bonus--will they still have jobs under the new owners?

So you've never bought or worn Spanx ... good for you. I don't disagree with your observation, but that's not the whole story ... surely, you should know that. I doubt this is daily wear for many women.

Sometimes we have just one pair of Spanx for that special dress, because it's nice to have a little bit smoother line. Nothing wrong with that, so it's not always about poor body image. Sometimes it's just about looking smoother. Really.

@Kachina624 it will be taxed as a bonus. It's more than they had before she gave the gift so why return it? The taxes will come directly from the $10,000 gift. Just like the sale of her business by the time all is said and done she will not walk a way with $1.2billion. She will pay taxes.

I've never purchased that brand either, but I do own some shapewear. I've not worn any of it in years though. I got tired of being uncomfortable.

I remember seeing her on the view years ago. So happy that she treated her employees. She understands no employees no company. Good for her.

I remember my mother, grandmother and aunts wearing girdles when I was young. Despite them looking like torture devices, everyone of those women looked good in their clothes. Smooth from bust to thighs. In my opinion, spanx does the same thing but with less difficulty.

I've known women who wear single digits but wear spanx because they want their clothing to look smooth. What's wrong with that?

@Pearlee Good for her. I like to read stories like this.Happy for her.

Spanx are great for special occassion dressing when you want a smooth line. And to me, they are not like sausage casing. Very doable.
