Fed Ex is raising their shipping prices in Jan. Home deliveries up by 6%. Some shipping will go up in Nov. due to fuel costs.

the only holiday purchases i'm making this year.......are gift cards......available at my local CVS.....don't need any stress....it's bad for my health!!!

@nana59 That's the easy way out for sure and I'm guilty of it too. However it strikes me as being cold and impersonal to just exchange gift cards with family members. You might as well exchange $100 bills. It gives me no satisfaction either as a giver or recipient. Fortunately, I have a tiny gift list.

I think labor costs are going up , too, so I"m sure that's another reason why cost (across the board) are being spread to consumers.

christmas gift giving gives me no satisfaction....never did..

Understandably, USPS is also raising prices during the coming holdiay season. I expect that UPS will soon follow.😊

I personally have been leery of gift cards for awhile now. Businesses are closing at the drop of a hat. Companies are being hacked. There is just too much chance the card might not be valid or have trouble being used, especially for smaller more local businesses that seem to be closing.

If gift cards were my option or choice, I would move on to cash instead. A little more secure (well at least in the short term, but who knows??) and more versitile too.
