A bit of humor is always welcome and the buck with the carrot on his head provided the comedy! The photos full of nature and its woodland gifts! The last picture of the buck commenting is precious!!!!! Life at the Wick's moves forward and the growth of the antlers shows us the circle of life. It's a fun time at the Wick's!!!!! Happiness!

They are really gorgeous.

It looks like the bucks are big and well fed while some of the does you can see their ribs. I wonder if they let the bucks eat first? Or maybe they are still gaining back weight after having babies?

@Drythe That's Tracy and I'm worried about her. She's so skinny and now seems to have an abscess on her lower jaw/chin area. She still eats, but stops after a full handfuls. I will say she was also skinny last year, so maybe she has cycles.

All: Please don't suggest I call the game warden for help. Been told before that they won't interfere with "nature" unless it becomes a herd issue. They also won't come here and sit, waiting for the deer to visit.

Tracy being skinny more likely has to do with the abcess making it painful to eat than anything cyclical. If so, that doesn't bode well for her.
