I saw a top I really liked on Sundance.

The SH were $17.95!!!

That SH was a shocker!!!!!

I didn't order. The top wasn't heavy at all.

Absolutely Sundance, 3 years ago I needed a dress to wear to an August wedding. The wedding was outside, needed something light weight, but dressy.

Andreatoo posted a photo of a beautiful blue silk maxi dress, from Sundance.

I looked everywhere , brick and mortar, could not find anything that compafed.

I paid 12.98 to have a featherweight dress delivered, I should be ashamed but I love dress, it fit beautifully, I'm 5'11, so that says alot.

Worth it, but I've never paid close to that since.

I think the Q ought to shopping cart like items. So in my opinion they have the worst shipping charges.

Since you received your items in boxes, you ordered on .com. Orders on .com, delivered by Fedex, are $35 minimum to get free delivery.

Since Covid, not all warehouses may be able to ship everything together because of sell-outs, so Walmart looks for items in all warehouse locations throughout the country, the reason why your order came in separate boxes. If they didn't, they may not be able to send everything customers want.

I'm curious, what was your shipping for the 5 boxes?

Walmart would have let you know what your shipping charges were before you submitted the order. They even tell you to order something else to meet the $35 minimum if your order doesn't add up to that and you don't want to pay shipping.

My story: I bought a trendy wooden chandelier on Amazon. It just didn't fit the space, so I decided to return it right away.

I hadn't noticed that the vendor had the caveat 'buyer pays return shipping'.

It cost me $100 to return it!!

Lesson learned.

Of course, it depends on weight and size of box.

I ordered a lightweight cotton shirt from Dillards that came in a plastic bag. $12.95.

@ECBG I stopped ordering from Sundance for the same reason. The shipping charges are astronomical.

@ECBG Sundance has beautiful inventory. The only catalogue that I will always find something I must have. However, they are notorious for unacceptable shipping charges.

Have you seen some of the shipping charges on EBay? I was looking at a purse (under 1pound) and the seller wanted almost $25 to ship it from Florida. I didn't buy the bag. Then in the opposite direction, I ordered a custom made patchwork king sized quilt from Etsy that weighs a lot and they provided free shipping. I'm sure it was built into the price, but still.

The highest shipping charge I paid was on eBay and it was $17 BUT the item sold for 99 cents which is crazy low. Others were selling theirs for more than what I paid for shipping.

Pottery Barn and West Elm are ridiculously high. Typically, they start with a very high base and then add a substantial percentage on top of that. I have ordered from them before, but it always makes me cringe.

Two of my favorite catalogs are Signals and Wireless, but they base their shipping (or did in the past) on the total amount ordered rather than weight or size. So, a $19.99 DVD might ship for $4.99 while a $49.99 DVD (same size, weight, packaging, etc.) might cost $14.99 to ship. Uh, okay. Sure. That never makes sense to me. It's like they try to punish you for buying something that's more expensive.

I cant remember exactly what is was but it was a food staple item from Amazon, but a 3rd party seller. Shipping was $89 and change. Needless to say I did not order it.
