Smokey skies make for some beautiful sunsets due to light reflecting off the tiny particles in the air. Enjoy at least this aspect of these horrible fires. 0

@Kachina624 This actually looks good, most of the time we can't see the mountains. It all depends if the winds is blowing.

From my house, the view is (or would be) Mt Rose. Haven't seen the mountains over here in days.

It's weird how some times it clears up a bit and then, by early afternoon, it looks like the apocalypse again.

Every time I open a door the smoke comes inside the house now.

WOW I remember those days. Yrs ago when we had the fire in Truckee the smoke sat in Reno for a couple of weeks.
We couldn't go outside because we'd choke on the smoke, I would have panic attacks because I couldn't breathe.
