Bought Anything Lately that You Haven't Bought in Years?

Well, I just did! I bought some nice pencils and I cannot remember when was the last time I did that. At least I hope they were nice! They were more expensive than pencils I remember.

I would have bought cheap penicls, which is what I was after, but didn't want 64 of them. I mean really!

I bought some new erasers, and some metal pencil sharpeners. I just got nostalgic for a pencil! LOL!!!

Have you bought anything unusual you haven't had to buy in a long time? Pencils are so retro! I haven't used one in years.

Does a 5th Ave Candy Bar count? I used to love them as a child and haven't seen them in stores for years. The other day I was in a Bartell's Drug store and saw them in the candy rack.

I have to admit that I bought three of them. I certainly won't eat them all at once and I'll cut each one in a few pieces and eat it over a couple of days. But seeing them again just made me so happy.

I bought one of those music boxes with the ballerina inside. I was missing mine from childhood and the simpler times and got one to put my hair pins and rubber bands in. I'm regressing!!!

I just replaced my can opener that I had for years. I, of course, did my "reseach" and decided on the Cuisinart. I do love Cuisinart. Well, it had bells and whistles and the third time I used it, it broke. My old one must be 20 years old, and it's not even broken. Just thought it was time for a new one.

@Sooner I actually just bought something for the grandkids....ages 3 and 5. I wanted to get them off the tv, I pads and other electronics for a change. Since they are into princess things I bought the FAO Schwartz pastel princess castle building blocks. They are really cute. The kids can play with them for hours and be creative. These blocks are nothing like I had as a kid. The girls love these.

Well, I broke down and bought canned soup and frozen dinners to have on hand if I want a break from fixing dinner for DH.

For a very long time, I have been opposed to that whole notion, given that I am a good cook and it's the least I can do (plus my meals are more nutritious).

Guess what? Once in awhile I need a break from the routine, and that's OK. He was the one who actually suggested it. Considerate, really.

@J Town Girl . My all time favorite candy bar. I was just thinking about 5th. Avenues the other day and wishing that I could find one. The last time I saw one was in a CVS several years ago. I'll admit to buying 2 and eating one in the car on the drive home. Remember when they used to make the little fun size 5th. Avenues around Halloween?

I ordered a new mattress as mine is 20 years old and starting to sag. Free disposal of the old one.. I also decided to replace the comforter/ spread set and as about 10 years old and a new decorative pillow. I donated the old one to the animal shelter that uses them for dog bedding.

@Sooner I recall an English teacher who swore by Ticonderoga pencils. They are triangular shaped to fit between your fingers more comfortably. I think if her when I see them.

Prell Shampoo. Same stuff, same smell and does a wonderful job of cleaning my hair. I forgot how good this stuff is. Been around for over 70 years for a good reason.

For me it was nail polish, I know right?? I've recently decided to start doing my own nails again. I'm tired of paying crazy prices (salons prices are getting nuts too) and feeling like the manicure or pedicure is really not done so well and I can do as good of a job myself. Guess it was just laziness on my part........not to say I would never go back to have it done, but it's a liberating feeling right now, I may have to purchase myself something with all the $$ I'm saving, LOL!
