I'm in VA and accustomed to Summer humidity. When I was small I recall hot humid Summer nights with a fan on and open windows before air conditioning.
I'd help Mama snap green beans on out porch that she would make with fried chicken and iced tea.
Lemonade was in a pitcher on that porch with lots of ice.
We swam in the river. At night ate watermelon in the yard.

Now the air conditioner runs to keep up with the 90+ heat but it and the dehumidifier in my encapsulated crawl space keep humidity controlled inside. I have a whole house generator that will pull the air conditioner.
I walk very early or late, and am glad when September arrives!

 ☀️ 🔥🏖 🍉 🧊 🥤

My great aunt always said, " horses sweat, men perspire, and women glow. ". Well folks I'm glowing up a storm. The temp is lower, but the humidity is awful, even the air conditioned market felt uncomfortable. Just getting the groceries in and my clothes are sticking to me. If the cupboard wan't bare with a holiday coming up, I would have stayed home. How do you folks in the south stand it ? I guess you can get used to anything.

It has been cool here in NM the past 3 or 4 days with on and off drizzle but this morning, in the desert, the humidity is 85%. This is extraordinarily unusual. First time I've had frizzy hair in years. Take me back to 6%. I left Houston in '92 to get away from this.

Here in Central Illinois our humidity has been in the 90 something percent!

When I get up in the morning I cannot even see out of my windows as they are covered in moisture.

It should get better today as the winds will come from the north/northwest.
