@Susan in California Sounds like you are on the right track. 🛤

I find what works best for me, first of all, is exercise. I make sure I do it first thing in the morning, otherwise I will find excuses all day long not to do it. 🏃

Then my other tip that works for me anyway, is I don't deprive myself of anything. But I only have one of it. So, for instance, if I'm craving a donut, I will eat a donut. Not 2 or 3 or a dozen, just one. So I don't feel like I'm on a diet, yet I don't overdo it. 🍩

And I feel that this is what keeps me at my fighting weight! Lol. This works with anything.... Even things like potato chips. I only eat one portion..... I buy the little snack bags that you usually would put in a child's lunch box. So, I know when the little bag is empty, I had my share of chips for the day. 🍟

So depending on the item, I only have one or one portion of it. This can include candy, chocolate, pizza or whatever ones downfall might be. 🍬🍭🍫🍕

Hi Susan, me too. I really watch my fruit intake because it's full of sugar. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing weight that was it to much fruit. I started eating avocados they are full of good fat and fiber I stayed away from them because they were too many points with the weight watcher program they're so good for your body your digestive system will love you ☺️
Exercise and plenty of water work great for me !
Best of luck you got this 🤩

@Susan in California You are certainly not alone. Over the last 14 months (since working from home when the pandemic first got going hard), I've gained 12 lbs - without noticing when it was happening. I consistently eat low carb (never binge and never eat sweets), but I think my level of exercise went WAY down....and somehow I've had a slow, very slow weight creep-up (I know that's not a word! LOL). I'm now dieting hard! I've decided that it absolutely must come off NOW.

I've lost 30 lbs just on portion control. You'd be surprised just how much you eat that you don't really need and fill full and satisfied. If you pay attention to each mouth full you'll realize after 3 or 4 bites your not tasting the flavor anymore just shoveling it in.

Make a food scale your best friend for life. That will help manage portion control. Never try and guess a 'serving'.

One day at a time is exactly right! I gained quite a few during this, also. I was during really well and lost most of it, but during the last month I have fallen into my old bad habits and gained some back. I am now beating myself up over it --- which is no help at all. It helps to remember that even if you do have a bad day, just put it behind you and start fresh the next day. Presistence does pay off. It takes such a short time to gain it and such a long time to lose it --- which makes us feel depressed! You can do it --- just stay positive!
