Are You Eating in Restaurants?

I think I've lost all desire to eat in a public place, maybe forever. The thought of handling menus, salt & pepper shakers as well as condiments is simply repulsive. Even silverware has been handled by someone else. I just can't go back to a restaurant; how about you?

I never have liked eating in restaurants, so nothing has changed here. Having lived through the pandemic, I think we all now have a healthy heightened awareness of germs, which is a good thing.

I've been several times and wash hands, use sanitizer, etc and am particular about restaurants.
It's not the same but soooo much better seeing friends and staying home! 😃

Before Covid I had already cut down on eating inside Restaurants so I really don't see myself eating inside no time soon.

I have to say yes. We enjoy eating out and have been since last summer when NY state opened outdoor dining. They used paper menus at that time. We ate indoors at restaurants this winter and now that summer is back we will be eating outside.

No, our favorite restaurants closed permanently last year. And my husband says he prefers my cooking anyway. But I can see by the crowded parking lots that many are enjoying eating out in my town.

I will absolutely eat in restaurants. I do not have an irrational fear of germs. I'm going to Bonefish Grill tomorrow actually. I have giftcards to spend.

Even before COVID, I would always carry hand sanitizer in my purse and try to remember to use it after I had placed my order. But....to answer your question....yes, I have been eating in restaurants since last June when they had limited capacity in our area. I didn't eat at them as much as I did before but now I'm pretty much back to normal with the number of times I eat out. I also did A LOT of carry out/drive-thru last year as well.

Once we were both fully vaccinated we started dining outdoors. Now that it’s so hot we’ve transitioned to indoor dining and feel comfortable. All the restaurants we’ve been to continue to limit capacity by the number of tables they have and we go at “off times”.

Yes, we have been eating at restaurants since last summer. When it is nice, we enjoy eating outside. We have eaten indoors too. I have always been picky about which restaurants we choose, so really no different now that our state has re opened.

You would think that people didn't know about hand sanitizing and hand washing pre-Covid.

For me, the key element is table spacing. I generally dine off hours anyway and would just go elsewhere if I feel tables are too closely spaced. Dining out is a pleasure and an entertainment.

The only restaurants I feel safe eating in are the ones owned by the corporation that my daughter and son-in-law work for and even then it's not all their concepts or locations.

We were in a Chili's just before all the restrictions were lifted and I won't go back. If they couldn't keep it clean with limited capacity I can't imagine what it looks like at full capacity.

That Ziosk machine was absolutely disgusting.....

We have been to at least 2 resturants; sat for over 15 minutes and did not get a server, so we left both times. At one of them, as we were walking out, the bartender yelled "see you again soon". I yelled back, "no you won't". My suggestion is if you can't get people to work, don't open.
