Scam email

I get a number of scam emails, usually easy to spot, purporting to be from businesses I deal with, but I know I don't, inviting me to click, which is the easiest way to get a virus or attack on my computer.

ALWAYS check on the email address of the sender (not just the name) before clicking on an email, to make sure the sender is that which it purports to be. I thought this email was so realistic looking, but I don't shop Walmart at all, so I know it is a scam. I just saw the disclaimer at the bottom. I don't think it makes the email less of a scam. Just someone wanting to infect my computer or a con of some sort.

I got one this morning supposedly from Amazon asking me to fill out an application for employment, said they are hiring now for many positions!!! The sender had a totally different email address.

I don't receive scam emails but we do get scam phone calls. The other day my husband answered the phone and the guy said there was a problem with our account. My hubs asked "what account" and he said he needed his name to proceed. My husband refused to give it to him and the guy on the phone said he would be arrested! My hubs said, "Come and get me". The guy then hung up. When we called the number back it said it had been disconnected. Unbelievable. If we did have an account with a company and there really was a problem, they would already have the information they are asking us for.

Yes, I would never give anyone my name on the phone. They called me! Who did you want to speak with.

More annoying are when services I do deal with call me, and then ask me to give them my account number so they can have a conversation with me about something on the account. I would never give anyone who called me an account number. It seems businesses should know not to do that. How do we know who they are? I told them I would call the company's customer service myself and figure out what the issue was that way.

yes yes yes! I got 5 of them yesterday and it was not just Walmart. CVS, Target, Amazon. I wish these scammers would get a life.

I just checked through my emails from Walmart, which includes a genuine Walmart Customer Experience Survey.

Right away I noticed the Walmart icon appears near the the top on all of them.

It's smilar to this 🔆

But their icon is absent from your fake example.

Anymore when I get an email from a business I deal with requesting any type of info instead of clicking on the link I just go to their website. Even with phone calls especially when the caller ID gives no info I'm afraid to give persoal info - I call them back instead.
