First of all, I am leaving for Missouri on Thursday morning and won't be back until late next Wednesday. I may miss some fawns 😔 This trip is important and necessary. My younger sister and I will be placing our mom into a nursing home 😪 Mom has lived with my sister for 12 years and she has done a wonderful job. However, we've determined mom would be much safer in a controlled environment.

My favorite pictures of the deer, as I have commented, are the ones with the deer in the tall grass. These are outstanding pictures!!! Nature truly provides us with beauty and MamaWick's photos show us that beauty!

I wish you a safe trip to Missouri. I know it isn't easy to make these decisions for our parents. But you know when you reach that point. God bless your sister for taking such good care of your mom as you said. I hope your mother will have a smooth transition to the nursing home and you will all have peace of mind knowing she will be taken care of.

Beautiful photos, as usual-some "frame worthy." It's heart-wrenching to see our parents and older family members age. Sometimes they age gracefully, sometimes not. Safety first though. You are doing the right thing for your Mom. May she be comfortable and feel at home in her new surroundings.

Overjoyed to see the lovely new fawn(s)! Saddened that you and your sister have had to make that heart-wrenching decision to place your mother in a situation where she can receive round-the-clock necessary care. You know in your heart when that moment comes, though.

My family had to wrestle with that same painful decision. It is reached only when you know it is the right thing to do. A very good friend who hails from England (and truly personifies their storied "stiff upper lip") had to place her dear husband in a nursing home because he had reached a level of behavior that left her no time to even sleep. He had become a danger to himself, and she was suffering other consequences of his behavior.

I wish you the most peaceful journey and milestone with your mom as possible and I hope she will like it.

I know it will be a stressful time, but hope it all turns out ok.

@luvzchiz...actually I am the eldest of 3 sisters, but the middle of 5 siblings total with just the 3 of us still living. Yes, there are half-siblings involved and mom is my step-mom. That said, none of us ever say half and mom is my mom no matter that there is no biology.

Our youngest sister does not help at all and refuses to talk to me or the sister mom lives with. She will go ballistic when she finds out mom is in a home, but this is her doing. Sorry, I know this is TMI, but I'm in a foul mood tonight about the brat.

@MamaWick How unfortunate that your youngest sister is what she is. Although it may not always seems so, it is her loss. True, it does put more stress on you and your other sister, but true colors always appear, and you know that you are doing the best for your mom.

It goes to your kind and loving nature for your herd and furbabies, Cricket an Roo, that you would be so to your human family. You help your son when he needs it and you are a good friend, as well. Your beauty shines from your face and soul. Kudos to your upbringing.

I have both family and friends who have adoptive and "step parents". All of them refer to their parents as their parents. That their parents were not their biological ones is the situation, but a good mother is a mother, and love is love is love! (Thanks Lin Manuel Miranda)

Feel free to vent here, and of course give Cricket a hug. Hugs and woofs will hopefully give you strength.
