What happened to the "normal" size TP roll..it's .Mega Rolls Now😯😯

I'm having friends stay this week and figured better buy some extra TP.

Guess what they don't fit my TP holders!! I was "perplexed"🤔. I looked at the package & it said MEGA size.

I'll just tell them my guest bathroom is gonna bring back nostalgic moments as the tp roll is sitting on the counter just like those days when we were kids & our parents always seemed to stop at the "worse gas station bathroom". We will have some fun laughs 🤣

Although, I did go to 4 stores to find the standard rolls -- all brands were MEGA size🤷‍♀️

Of course, after a few trips to the bathroom the roll will be used and then it'll fit 🙃

Some brands started Mega rolls before the pandemic, although it probably encouraged other companies to follow suit. Besides the holder, I have a glass holder that holds 3 rolls so there's no running out at an awkward moment. I have found that the Charmin Megas from Kroger are too big for my glass holder, but the Megas from Costco fit. I hope they don't get any bigger. I don't want to have to find another holder. This wasn't even designed for that purpose, but it works perfectly and is a nice look.

@SloopJohnB I like the select a size on paper towels. I rarely ever use an entire sheet.

Maybe, like Elaine on Seinfeld, someone might need to "spare a square" depending on their need at the moment. LOL

Hmmmm toilet paper holder extenders...who would have ever thought we'd need that, but, I'm going to Amazon right now to order. Although, I don't think it'll work on my guest bath one as I have a newer style holder.

My "extra" rolls are on a decorative paper towel holder alongside the toilet. The "double" rolls would fit 3 now I can only stack 2. (Extra in cabinet thou).

Just can't understand why they can't give us a choice not everything needs to be "super sized"🤷‍♀️

The so-called normal sized toilet paper is ridiculously short and narrow. When I first noticed that the roll was taking up just part of the holder I called the manufacturer. I complained that t-paper was getting so narrow that pretty soon we'd be using dental floss. The rep laughed but, of course, nothing changed, except the rolls became even smaller. Therefore, if we don't want to change rolls all the time we choose the Mega rolls, which also don't fit the holders, but for the opposite reason.

True story my dad was a master plumber, we lived in the country & had a septic system. TP was not a good thing for it I guess..

because as kids we were forbidden to use more than 4 squares of single ply -- my brother used to say my dad marked the roll.

oh the dumb things we "abided by" as kids🙄🙄

I like the "mega" sized rolls. They fit on my dispensers just fine, and the less often that I have to change the roll, the better.

Thanks to the great TP hoarding adventure of 2020, I have several raft sized packages of TP in my basement. It's gonna be a long time before I need to buy more!

@homedecor1 I've had plumbing problems in two homes (no septic tanks) and have had plumbers in both cases recommend single ply Scott 1000 TP. I still use it. It disintegrates instantly.

I have the toilet paper holder stand which holds 4 mega rolls stacked on each other and one hangs from the handle on top. They also have those for the regular rolls. They work great for us.

I once bought the mega roll and realized that it couldnt fit the regular toilet paper stand so I had to buy the mega toilet paper stand to fit the mega toilet paper lol. Just typing this made me laugh.

The extender might work, but I would think the issued would also be because the roll is to thick around. I don't have a holder in my bathroom, I put the TP in an old crock, that sits on the floor.
