I Am So Excited!!!

My state, New Mexico, just announced a vaccination incentive program where everyone who has gotten their vaccination will be put in a pool with names being drawn for prizes. Of the highly coveted prizes are included free hunting and fishing licenses. Wow, I can't tell you how many nights I've fallen asleep dreaming I'd be given a FREE hunting or fishing license. I'd be on Cloud 9. I'm so glad I got my shots.

Those of you not yet vaccinated, better consider coming to New Mexico to get yours and maybe stay to catch a rainbow trout or a big mule deer.

Oh, incidentally, but not so exciting, the top prize is $5M.

California is doing the same thing: a big, fat lottery. And everybody who has already been fully vaccinated with be registered automatically for a lower amount.

I think it's great. It's money well spent. People seem to like it, and it will save money in the long run.

My state has a vaccination lottery where five people will have a chance at winning one million dollars each. Everyone who got vaccinated so far is automatically entered.

Ohio started the big lottery win for getting the shot, I believe their vaccination numbers have been boosted because of the lottery.

I guess other states think it's a good idea and are following suit.

Pennsylvania has no vaccine lottery. I doubt anyone will get the vaccine just because they could win a prize. Those that refuse the vaccine can't be bought by maybe they could win something.

Well to be fair...the unvaccinated people are pretty bad with statistics if they've chosen risking Covid over getting the vaccine so far. So, a lottery would be right up their alley. Magical thinking and betting on odds that are completely against you.

Sort of joking with this, sort of not.

If they have one in TN I hope I win something.

Those who have gotten the vaccine are gambling on the long term safety of it. There is no way to accurately predict what the outcome will be long term since it is innovative.

The testing has all been short term and drugs that were tested and got approval later were found harmful and taken off the market.

The vaccine is not a drug but it affects the immune system to create antibodies. Sometimes antibodies go rogue and attack healthy cells.

@millieshops I guess it's for both but mainly an incentive for the unvaccinated.
