What do you think of the quality?

Should I get my recliners from Bob's or shop elsewhere?

About 10 years ago we furnished our apartment with items mostly from Bob's Discount Furniture--sofa, side tables, etc. The quality was fine and I would not hesitate to use them again.

My daughter just purchased a couch and love seat from them about 6 months ago, and is very happy with the quality and the service! She has also ordered 2 floor lamps, but once she received them, she didn't like them and they came back and picked them up and gave her a full store credit!

They recently opened up a few new stores here and we went in. I wasn't to impressed with the place. It did seem like ok furniture but they just didn't have what we were looking for.

My son bought a really nice leather recliner from Bob's and a new Queen size bed and mattress set. He really likes the quality and has not had any issues at all.

I just realized after reading this thread that I haven't seen one of their commercials on TV for a long time! I just looked it up and they are still in business locally....however there have been a few furniture stores that have closed down in my area.

The reason I mention this is because I just ordered a new sofa & chairs yesterday for my living room after a lot of decision making from Lay-z-boy.

I am very pleased with the queen size storage bed and the desk that I have purchased from Bob's. Light use, very good and unique features and styling.

My first purchase was a leather manual reclining sofa. Heavy daily use. I had to trash it after 10 years. The frame was somewhat out of alignment and the manual recline was not great. This time I paid a little more for an automatic La-z-boy with chenille stain release fabric. Worth the upgrade for me.

Price paid for the quality is good. My only concern is the motion furniture.

Bob's is great...daughter got alot of furniture from there and with an actie 5 year old boy, its holding up just fine...go for it!! Delivery was on time and they did a fantastic job..

I have a cousin in the furniture business and he doesn't think Bob's has quality furniture. Having said that, my mom bought a table there, my nieces and nephew have furnished their apartments with Bob's Furniture with no problem, it is affordable, if your not hard on your furniture I think it would be fine.

Im looking for a new couch, and when his store opened here I went for a look, the couch I looked at was well made, and I had some questions and the sales person even showed me that the couch even had steel re-enforcement on the bottom which is a sign of quality..... But unfortunately I didnt like the colors (it was done in light colored fabrics which would not work for me especially with my cats).....

I would think it cen depend on your budget and the type of use it will be getting. There is definitley a market our there for lower end furniture, and much higher end.

We purchased a couch and love seat there about three years ago. Still in very good shape. Has held up well.

My son bought a couch and ottoman from Bob's. Paid for their "white glove" treatment. The ottoman developed a seam that was coming a hole. With this "wg" option they would repair anything for free.. Well, here comes a guy that clearly doesn't have any seamstress qualities. He "repaired" the ottoman pretty much how a monkey would. Horrible. I would NEVER purchase anyting from this second place store. Yuck.

Keeping in mind you get what you pay for, I'd rate them 7 out of 10 points. Not great quality, but a good value for the price.

I don't own any of their products but I would like to give them praise for their humanitarian efforts. I volunteer at a shelter that helps people get back on their feet and Bob's has donated truckloads mattresses for years.

I can't speak to the quality, but a while back I wanted to start scouting around for a new sofa and looked at the offerings. I found them very limited in terms of style, color and fabric. There was nothing to my liking so I moved on. My sense was their merchandise fills a niche but this is not fine furniture.

We purchased our living room suite (sofa, loveseat, oversize chair, ottoman) from Bob's about 10 years ago. It's held up very well - and it is the furniture we use daily. My daughter purchased her bedroom suite from Bob's for her first apartment over 5 years ago and, after 2 moves, it still looks good and functions like new. The furniture is reasonable priced - it's not Ethan Allen/Pennsylvania House quality, but it's not Sauder either. I'd recommend Bob's for sure.

Did your son call to complain about the repair? What did they say if he did, did they try to make it right?

If he didn't call them again to request it be done over then that's on him.

If you replace your furniture every four to five years, then yeah, Bob's Furniture is an ok place to buy as any other place. What I don't like is buying furniture that can't be delivered into my home and placed where I want it. Places like Hayneedle and Wayfair deliver that sort of furniture that the delivery won't come into your home.

Quality Furniture is really hard to get. I always consider the density of the cushions for seating.
