Some New Stimulus Check Information

My 2019 income was higher than normal, so I didn't get the full amount on last year's stimulus checks. Like millions of people, my 2020 income dropped to the point where I am eligible for the full 2021 check.

I filed my income tax return electronically about a week before the stimulus package was passed, but when my check was direct deposited into my bank account a few days ago, it was based on my 2019 income.

Amazingly I got through to a live stimulus check specialist today and asked this question: "Since I filed my income tax return before the stimulus package passed, will I have to wait until 2022 to receive the remainder of the current check?"

The answer: "We don't know yet. There are so many people in your position, the government hasn't yet figured out the best way to solve this problem. Call us back in a month."

There isn't any information available for when we'll get our checks. Someone I know told me half the amount was deposited into her account but she and her husband jointly file their return and qualify for the full amount. It's like they gave one of them the stimulus and not the other.

I got the 600, by check, hubbo got nothing.

Yes, they have our bank information. Not millionaires either LOL

@PickyPicky3 I hope you got the stimulus check specialist's private number so you can call back. You'll probably never find another.

@Kachina624 Here's the number: 800-919-9835. Opens at 7:00 am eastern. You're not allowed to ask any individual questions, and you must listen to the specialist spend a minute telling you what else you cannot say. After that, she was smart and clear as a bell.
