Ebay ships faster than Amazon

I'm talking about third party sellers. I buy my books used online because our library is still closed. The Ebayers seem to knock themselves out getting their items to me, and that includes items beyond books. Those do come Priority, however.

I know it's apples and oranges but it's hard to beat Amazon sometimes.....yesterday morning I ordered a pain relief ointment. It arrived at my door before 5 PM same day.

Getting good ratings from ebay buyers is a big deal and means sink or swim for sellers. Ratings are prominently posted so buyers can't miss them.

You cannot make a broad, all encompasing statement like that. You can only say that YOU are getting delivery quicker. Ebay and Amazon aren't even in the same world. Ebay is the mouse while Amazon is the Blue Whale. Personally, I never received anything I bought from Ebay quickly. Which iis ok, I fine with waiting. I've just never received anything from Ebay in 2-4 days like I commonly do from Amazon sellers. I cracked the water reservoir for my Keurig coffeemaker and I found a seller on Amazon and I received it in 3 days. I was so surprised, it was a third party seller so not eligible for Prime.

I agree that ebay sellers who have high ratings go the extra mile to ship very quickly or at least let you know if shipping will be delayed because they only ship one day a week or are out of town on vacation.

The fastest ship I've experienced was ordering a book on a weekday and finding the book in the mail box the next day on my lunch hour.

It came from St. Louis, which is a mail sorting hub for our area, and just a couple of hours south of here.

I had come to expect receiving items from ebay in 3 or 4 days, but that was a record!

@depglass I have been ordering from Ebay for many many years... always get very good service and fast shipping. I also order a lot from Amazon and get terrific shipping and goods. I am grateful for both of them.

Exactly! It's the owner of the Storefront who ships. The same would hold true for Etsy and third party vendors on Amazon. @Sushismom .

@depglassEveryone Ebay is a third party market place. Ebay (the company) doesn't sell a thing.

If Amazon has a factory near you, you will get it the same day you order. Happened to me more then several times.

Always have had good experiences from Ebay vendors! One year for Christmas I ordered a rare old classic movie for my sister, it was late in the holiday season when I came across it and thought it would be a nice surprise (she had wanted this movie and had been looking for it for a long time) ....I didnt expect it to arrive in time for Christmas and planned to take a photo of the movie DVD cover and put it in a box to say that it was coming ...... Lo and behold I received it in 2 days and shipping was free!

We ordered an HP printer from Amazon and are Prime customers and this item was being shipped from Amazon. It took 5 days transit time.

We also ordered an unrelated item from Ebay. That seller was from New Hampshire and we are many, many miles away yet we received it in 3 days. The shipping cost was $6.00 and were stunned that it arrived so quickly.
