Well, wouldn't you know that this close to Christmas our hot water heater had to poop out, and it's only 6 years old and and, of course, a little past the warranty. Today a plumbing company came, couldn't fix it and told me I needed a new one and they wanted over $2,000 to put in a new one. I think that is awfully expensive. I saw that we paid a little over a thousand for the last one (of course, it DID poop out quickly). Is this a fairly normal price ? The one they would install is supposed to be the "Cadillac" of water heaters according to this company. Another company I called (referred to us by a friend) said they would put in the same model, etc. for $950. Trouble is, we need financing and the first co. will do that, the second will not. Both companies have been in business for some time and are licensed and bonded.

Anyone give me any guidance? We can't wait much longer because we are all dying for hot showers and our dishes are filling up the kitchen.

Thanks.
