Caught Covid in prison.

TMZ reporting contracted Covid 4 weeks ago. Released from hospital and transferred back to prison.

CNN reporting he died of natural causes.

In any event, good riddance.

He became such a creepy person. I saw some programs some time ago regarding his murder charges and conviction.

@skatting44 Agree and only 19 years old when he began his career with The Teddy Bears and "To Know Him is to Love Him".

He was involved in producing more music after his retirment from the industry in the mid-sixties including the Beatles (credit the success of the album "Let it Be to him), Leonard Cohen, Dion, Righteous Brothers and so on. He was also instrumental in the success of folk groups, too.

I remember the murder of Lana Clarkson but never watched any proceedings.

His "wall of sound" music was OUTSTANDING.

I've read many books about Spector, the Ronettes, Darlene Love (who was the voice leading many of the so-called "girl groups"). . .

I was shocked when he was arrested for murder; I'm very shocked by the photos from the last decades.

I appreciate his marvelous musical work, however.

But what a dreadful person.

If suffering is bad and people should be punished for making other suffer, then no one should be deliberately made or allowed to suffer. If suffering can ever be justified by bad behavior, then we are at the mercy of others' judgements of our worthiness. Considering that we are so divided over what is right and what is wrong right now, half of our population could justify the other half suffering right now. That way lies great evil. The idea that those we hate for various valid (to us) reasons deserve to suffer has been used to justify atrocities all throughout history.

There was a very interesting Twitter response to the story, or the way it was framed, initially. I usually don't pay attention to Twitter-horde groupthink, but this was an enlightening corrective.

Much of the media was initially reporting the story in a way that seemed to focus mostly on Spector's splashy career, with the mention of the murder he committed seemingly minimized. Many on Twitter (and other places, for all I know), reacted with criticism and revulsion to this-- and showcased the initial headlines that did that. Now, when you look up the headlines, virtually all have been altered to reflect the enormity of the crime, and the victim's name, Lana Clarkson.

Musically speaking Spector was very successful and make his mark . However, his dark side took him down a evil path and that is a big part of his legacy.
