nemacolin resort in pennsylvania

i began watching the bachelor last night and they filmed it at a resort in pennsylvania. the name of it is NEMACOLIN and i have never heard of it before, but it is only about three hours away from the baltimore area. i was checking out their website and there are many things to do and see.

has anyone been to NEMACOLIN RESORT before and what was your experience like? would love to go there sometime.....it would make a great 3 or 4 day trip.

I looked up that resort a few seasons ago (Jo Jos season I think) when they filmed there. I've always wanted to go because it looks beautiful. I'm near Baltimore so it's closer than I imagined. The footage last night was gorgeous with the Fall foliage. I'll be planning a trip when the pandemic is over.

If you can make the trip to Nemacolin, be sure to also tour the Frank Lloyd Wright designed "Falling Water" which is not too far. After Covid, naturally!

I've never been there myself but relatives of mine went there for a wedding anniversary and loved it. They did just want you want to do. A 4 day longer weekend.

DD has been there.

Her first visit was for a business trip.

'Then, she said she loved it so much, that she and her husband went for a weekend getaway!

I never heard of it until a commercial featuring it started playing on our local stations. I was going to search online but forgot.

Glad someone posted about it here and solved the mystery.

@sunshine45 I had never heard of it either until recently. I happened to be watching regular TV over the holidays and saw a few of their commercials. It looked intriguing and I was curious.....would love to hear more too!

We have been there several times; it's beautiful....only about hour and half from us...Christmas is very beautiful.😀

The Chateau is gorgeous, the rooms are stunning! Food is pretty good depending on where in the resort you eat, some are better than others...beautiful art work through out and the spa is very, very, nice...I highly recommend Nemacolin!

I've been there for business. It is pricey, but very nice. They now also have a small casino (have not been there since that opened though). It’s a lovely resort and great food. The area is really nice in the fall. Weather can be bad in the winter. Everyone’s “very nice” can be different, but we had great service and beautiful rooms. I highly recommend it.

It's still a price I am not willing to pay. I am not a golfer, so this place doesn't appeal to me. I spend almost every summer day on a boat on a lake with beaches.

It is beautiful, no doubt about that and it would be worth it for many people, just not me. I have traveled all over the world and have seen and experienced a lot of culture.

For me, there is not enough beside being a beautiful place that would entice me. I want more and I need more bang for my buck.

I don't need a romantic atmosphere to refresh my marriage. LOL. All I have to do to get my DH in a romantic mood is to be there.

On vacation, I like to spend my time out and about not in a beautiful room.

So, for me, this is an easy pass. Enjoy, if it's your cup of tea.

that was actually one of the things i was impressed with.....how much there is to do in and around the resort, especially for a three or four day excursion.

i am not a golfer either and i dont have a dh. looking for some fun that is close by, good food and cocktails a must, and relaxation rather than romance lol

I have been there twice once with my husband and another time with my sister.

It is a beautiful resort and we are considering taking another trip there later this year.

I agree with @ruby6332 , definitely visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water and if time permits visit Kentuck Knob (Hagan House) which he also designed.

I have stayed there and it is definately a must see and do. It's beautiful no matter what time of the year and plenty of spa treatments as well as golf, hiking, shopping etc. A nice fun getaway once this covid has passed.

If you go don't miss the spa, it's a piece of heaven. After Covid I think I might splurge and give myself a treat.
